Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Ginyard.
Hi Robert, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am an entrepreneur turned health advocate after having a bout with prostate cancer in 2010. I was in the process of re-launching a line of totebags I created for working women, when I was diagnosed. Years earlier, my totebags were sold through major departments stores, including Nordstrom. After the successful treatment for my prostate cancer, I had plans to return my entrepreneurial venture. However, my life took a different turn. Initially not wanting to share my prostate cancer journey with anyone other than close friends and family members; I felt compelled to help men, and their families by sharing the my prostate cancer journey. Sharing my story became part of my life’s mission.
As a result of my prostate cancer, I created – Dream it. Believe it. Do it. Be it. (DiBi DiBi). It’s a blueprint for moving from promise to action.
About DiBi DiBi
A Story of Purpose, Resilience, and Second Chances
I’ve been a dreamer for as long as I can remember. But somewhere in my 30s and 40s, life became comfortable—and comfort slowly replaced courage. I settled into routines that felt safe and predictable. I was still dreaming, but I had stopped taking meaningful action. Inside, I felt myself drifting away from the purpose I knew I was meant to live.
“I wasn’t declining physically—I was declining emotionally.”
Then at 48, everything changed. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In an instant, I was forced to face not only my mortality, but the reality that so many of my dreams were still waiting—delayed by fear, doubt, and hesitation. Fortunately, I caught the cancer early enough to fight. And in that moment, I made a promise to myself and to God:
“If I survive this, I will stop postponing my dreams and start living with purpose.” I meant it. Deeply.
But a year later, I realized I had slipped back into old habits. I was alive—but I wasn’t fully living.
One sleepless night, after hours of reflection and reckoning, I heard a whisper: “dibi dibi.”
Confused, I asked aloud what it meant. The answer came clearly:
“Dream it. Believe it. Do it. Be it.”
That moment changed everything.
From Personal Wake-Up Call to Purpose-Driven Movement
That message became my turning point—a reminder that time is precious, purpose is not optional, and it’s never too late to begin again. The very next day, I put “dibi dibi” on a T-shirt so I could wear that reminder every single day. Soon, people began asking about the message. And I realized something powerful: this wasn’t just my story—it was theirs too.
“DiBi DiBi is more than words. It’s a declaration.”
DiBi DiBi is a purpose-driven lifestyle brand and movement created to inspire people—especially those in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond—to reconnect with their dreams and live intentionally. Our apparel is more than clothing. It’s a daily reminder that your dreams still matter, your purpose still matters, and your next chapter can be your most meaningful one yet.
Whether you’re rebuilding after a setback, rediscovering who you are, or finally answering the call you’ve felt for years,
DiBi DiBi invites you to step forward with clarity and courage.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
By and large, it has been a smooth road. However, there was a time when I questioned if my message was resonating en masse. I’d get a “thank you” and a hand shake after a speaking event, but I really didn’t feel like I was making a difference. That’s when I realized that the goal should be to reach one man at a time. And if I did that successfully, my message of early detection and the importance of men’s health will begin to spread – one man will tell another man; thus, creating a ripple effect.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a result of my prostate cancer journey, I’ve been able to share my message globally. My current love (not work), focuses on health and wellness, along with helping people find their life’s purpose by answering three questions about themselves:
1. Who am I really?
2. Why am I here?
3. What am I supposed to do with my life?
My podcast, Intentionally Overheard, features guests, who share their life’s journey and how they were able to navigate the ups and down’s of life, and subsequently answer the three essential questions one will often ask themselves.
Whether on stage, behind a podcast microphone, or on national network television or radio, I’d say I am most proud of unequivocally embracing my voice, and life’s mission to help others stop postponing the lives they were meant to live.
How do you think about luck?
When I was younger, I placed a lot of value on luck. However, age and wisdom has taught me that so-called luck is merely the expedited presence of a blessing, or what some may refer to as, favor. When you are walking and working in your life’s purpose, you are in alignment; and with alignment, I believe the things that are meant for you will make their way to you.
