Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Tieff.
Hi Meghan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started my career as a personal trainer 20 years ago but prior to that, I was working as a paralegal in Baltimore for three years. I loved my job but a position as a trainer and aerobics instructor just opened up for me and I decided to take the risk and the leap and try it and turns out to be the best decision I ever made. I’ve worked in gyms, I’ve owned a gym and now currently run my own business training people not only out of my home but going to peoples’ businesses, homes, parks, etc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always bumps in the road and challenges and I always decided to embrace those. Going out on my own and not relying on a gym for a business was a big step and a scary one for me but turns out to be a great decision. I was worried about getting clients and maintaining clients etc. but 90% of the time I have a waitlist so everything has been amazing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I run my own personal training business, Meghan Tieff training, as well as I have become a social media influencer. I built my Instagram and added 90,000 followers all by myself in a year. It’s definitely a business and I love it! I work for a global social networking app called Paltalk and teach virtual fitness classes globally, four times a week.
I also work for a supplement company called ID Life and to top it off, I’m a fitness model, I was one of Under Armour’s first fitness models 15 years ago.
I think what sets me apart is I am 46, a single mom, and running three businesses. I know the struggles of trying to fit in exercise, I know what it’s like to run nonstop and not have time to even heat up a meal in the microwave let alone cook one, so I can relate to so many people on so many levels.
I am most proud of my ability to keep my business running while raising two amazing boys, keeping them active in school, sports, etc., all while keeping a positive attitude,
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I really think it’s important to embrace challenges. Everybody has them everybody is fighting a battle you don’t know about but for me, my outlook is …. the glass is always half full. I always focus on what I’m grateful for every morning and wake up with a smile on my face, not only for my clients but for my children. Yes, I struggle, yes, I have tough days, but I love my job so much that I have really discovered when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. I’m so grateful every single day to be able to do what I do and motivate and inspire people on a regular basis. I’m truly live in my passion and if I can do it, anybody can!
