Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Bangoura
Hi Marie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been surrounded by women who can do hair. As a kid I would always where my aunts wigs and here I am, a wig stylist!
It all started by my friend forcing me to do her hair one day because she really wanted her hair done, she always had confidence in me executing something and when I did it it came out better than expected. she promoted my work and got me my first couple of clients. And fast forward 6 years later I’ve been able to expand my business from New York to now Maryland!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When starting out it was great I got better and better with each client and my city was getting to know me and book with me. I began making fast money at a young age and started actually saving my first 10k at 17 and making way more. I would say the only struggle I had was moving locations but it wasn’t a struggle, you have to be able to market your self and know what to and not to do along the way, I printed my business in Maryland for about a whole month prior to me arriving so that people were aware. Now I’m able to have clients in both states and have customers from around the country who shop with me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Hairstylist, I am most proud of the fact that I made this my brand and I made it something bigger than it probably was anticipated to be. I got to work with Zeus network my senior year of highschool to be a hairstylist for the show Jocelyn’s cabaret and this past summer I got to do an artist, Scar lips hair. I have my own product line and Hair line and my customers love it! I sell the best quality hair and the best lace glue on the market, And this is all under the age of 20 years.
