Conversations with London Epiphany

Today we’d like to introduce you to London Epiphany.

Hi London, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
First and foremost, I am where I am today because of the grace of God. My journey actually started when I was 5 years old. My dad enrolled me in Tae Kwon Do so I could learn self-defense, and I trained for 11 years. During that time, I also ran track, studied visual arts in school, and discovered my love for dance.

My martial arts instructor would often incorporate my dance skills into our demonstrations and competitions, which gave me a glimpse of how much I enjoyed performing. Because of those experiences, I wanted to explore dance even more, so I joined the youth dance ministry at my church and later became a member of the dance team at my high school. I eventually became a dance company member and captain at New Town High School. My dance teacher—who became like a dance mom to me—is really the reason I fell in love with teaching and choreography. She saw something in me, challenged me, and encouraged me to grow in my gift.

From there, I started teaching my own classes, worked at several dance studios teaching hip hop to dancers of all ages and levels, and continued performing whenever I could. Today, I’m the owner of Elements Dance Crew, a space I created to give dancers quality training, performance opportunities, and a place where they can truly be themselves.

Although dance is my greatest passion, I’m definitely a creative at heart. I’m also the owner of Epiphany Nailed It, I enjoy recording and editing videos, I create my own clothing, and I love making art. I believe every creative gift I have works together to tell my story and support my ultimate goal of becoming a traveling creative director and choreographer.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
From the outside, my journey has looked pretty smooth, but like many people, I’ve had to overcome a lot of internal battles and self-doubt. Sometimes your own thoughts can slow you down more than any obstacle ever could.

Right now, one of my biggest short-term goals is simply to continue speaking life into myself and taking that first step, even when it feels uncomfortable. I’ve learned that getting started is usually the hardest part. Once I take that first step, everything else begins to fall into place, and I can build momentum from there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a choreographer, teacher, performer, and overall creative. While I’m best known for my strong hip hop background and creative approach to movement, I never want to be limited to just one thing. I love creating, whether it’s through dance or any other artistic outlet.

More than any title or accomplishment, I’m most proud of the woman I’m becoming. I truly feel like I’m just getting started and finally stepping into the dreams and prayers I’ve been working toward for years.

I think what sets me apart is the value I place on community and genuine connection. I love bringing people together, creating safe spaces, and making everyone feel like they belong. Whether someone takes one class with me or has been on this journey with me for years, I want them to feel like family.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
My Bible and the Bible app are probably the most important resources I use. They keep me grounded, give me peace, and remind me to stay focused on God throughout every stage of my journey.

I also love reading. Books help quiet all the outside noise and allow me to slow down, learn, and stay inspired. They challenge me to grow, both personally and creatively.

And of course, Pinterest is one of my favorite creative tools. Whenever I need a little extra inspiration or want to bring an idea in my head to life, it’s usually one of the first places I go. It helps me visualize concepts and sparks new ideas that I can make my own.
