Conversations with Keara Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keara Williams.

Hi Keara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a simple passion for helping children believe in themselves. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, I worked as a Pre-K Teacher’s Assistant, where I saw firsthand how much children’s confidence, self-esteem, and words about themselves influenced their learning and overall development. That experience inspired me to combine my love for youth development, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

I founded Believing In My Growth (B.I.M.G.) to create resources that empower children through affirmations, literacy, and confidence-building. What started with one vision grew into publishing my first children’s affirmation book, speaking at schools and community organizations, and creating interactive programs that encourage young people to recognize the power of their words.

As the business has grown, so has my vision. Today, I partner with schools, libraries, camps, and community organizations to provide engaging literacy experiences, youth empowerment workshops, and author visits that help children build confidence both inside and outside the classroom. I’m also expanding my collection of children’s books and educational resources to continue creating meaningful tools that inspire the next generation.

Alongside my work as an author and entrepreneur, I also work full-time in public service, which has strengthened my leadership, organization, and commitment to serving others. Every step of my journey has reinforced one belief: when children learn to believe in themselves early, they become empowered to create brighter futures for themselves and their communities. Today, I’m continuing to expand B.I.M.G. so I can reach even more youth and families across the country.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No journey is without challenges, and mine has certainly been no exception. Building a business from the ground up has required patience, consistency, and a willingness to keep learning. There have been moments where I’ve had to step back, adjust my plans, and trust the process instead of rushing the outcome. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen overnight, and every challenge has played a role in shaping both my business and me as a leader.

What’s interesting is that many of those lessons are reflected in my book, The Power In Me: Mental Health Affirmations for Kids. One of the affirmation words is Challenge, which reminds children that challenges may try to stop them from being great, but accepting them only makes them stronger. Another is Overcome, which encourages children to keep striving to be the best version of themselves, even when they stumble.

Those aren’t just messages I wrote for children—they’re principles I’ve embraced throughout my own journey. Every obstacle has strengthened my resilience, reinforced my purpose, and reminded me why I started Believing In My Growth. Looking back, I appreciate the challenges because they’ve helped shape the business and the mission it represents today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work centers around creating meaningful resources that help children build confidence, strengthen their self-esteem, and develop a positive mindset. Through Believing In My Growth (B.I.M.G.), I write children’s books, design educational activities, and create interactive literacy experiences that combine storytelling with affirmations and social-emotional learning. Every resource is intentionally designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and something children can apply beyond the classroom.

I specialize in children’s literacy, social-emotional learning, and confidence-building through engaging author visits, school partnerships, community events, and youth programs. Whether I’m reading my book in a classroom, speaking to families, or creating new educational materials, my goal is always the same—to leave every child feeling encouraged, seen, and empowered.

One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is publishing The Power In Me: Mental Health Affirmations for Kids. Seeing children connect with the affirmations, repeat them with confidence, and begin believing in themselves has been incredibly rewarding. Knowing that my work is making a positive impact on young lives is what continues to inspire me.

What sets my work apart is that I don’t simply create books—I create experiences. A big part of that is **Mighty Me**, the superhero character behind my brand who helps bring the messages of confidence, courage, and positive self-talk to life in a way children can relate to. Mighty Me gives young readers a fun and memorable reminder that they already have the power within themselves to overcome challenges and believe in who they are.

Every author visit, workshop, and activity is designed to be interactive, memorable, and meaningful so children don’t just read positive words—they experience them. My goal is for every child to leave feeling more confident than when they arrived, knowing they have the ability to grow, lead, and believe in themselves.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
One piece of advice I would give is to start before everything feels perfect. In the beginning, it’s easy to spend a lot of time waiting for the right moment, the perfect plan, or every detail to fall into place. I’ve learned that growth comes from taking intentional steps, learning along the way, and being willing to improve as you go.

I also encourage aspiring entrepreneurs and creatives to stay true to their purpose. It’s easy to compare your journey to someone else’s, but everyone’s path is different. Focus on creating something meaningful, continue investing in your craft, and remain consistent. The small steps you take today can lead to opportunities you never imagined.

Looking back, I wish I had known that success is built through consistency, relationships, and patience—not overnight results. Every experience, whether it feels like a win or a lesson, contributes to your growth. Keep showing up, keep learning, and trust the process.
