Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Burnett.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
never came from a boxing background. In fact, I didn’t step into a boxing gym until I was 27 years old. Most people thought I was too late to make anything of it, but I refused to let my age or lack of experience define me. I committed myself completely, trained relentlessly, and within two years I had become an ICB International Champion and earned the opportunity to fight on major platforms, including BKFC, live on DAZN.
My journey hasn’t been straightforward. Like many people, I’ve faced setbacks, injuries, personal challenges, and moments where I questioned everything. But every obstacle has taught me resilience and pushed me to grow, not just as a fighter, but as a person.
Alongside my own career, I wanted to create opportunities for others. That’s why I founded Krown Boxing Promotions, which has quickly become one of Ireland’s fastest-growing boxing promotions, providing a platform for fighters of all levels to showcase their talent. I also created The Fight Lab, a system designed to help fighters build their personal brands, attract sponsorships, and create opportunities outside of the ring, because I believe a successful fighter should be able to build a career both inside and outside boxing.
Today, my focus is bigger than winning fights. It’s about inspiring people to believe that it’s never too late to chase a dream, creating opportunities for others, and leaving a positive impact on the boxing community. My story is proof that with hard work, consistency, and belief in yourself, you can achieve things that once seemed impossible.
I know my journey is only beginning, and I’m excited to see where it leads next.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change it because every challenge has shaped who I am today.
Starting boxing at 27 meant I was constantly being told I was too old and too late. I had no amateur background, so I had to work twice as hard to earn respect. Every achievement came through consistency, discipline, and refusing to give up when people doubted me.
I’ve also dealt with injuries and setbacks that tested me physically and mentally. After one fight I suffered damage to my eyesight, and there were times I questioned whether I should continue boxing. There have been cancelled fights, opponent changes, financial pressures, and the challenge of balancing training, running businesses, and being a father to my two children.
Building Krown Boxing Promotions has brought its own obstacles. Running events involves constant problem-solving, from organising venues and sponsors to managing fighters, ticket sales, and the unexpected issues that come with every show. Creating opportunities for others is incredibly rewarding, but it’s also a huge responsibility.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t about avoiding obstacles—it’s about how you respond to them. Every setback has made me more determined, more resilient, and more focused on building something bigger than myself. Today, I use those experiences to encourage other fighters and entrepreneurs to keep going, even when the odds seem against them.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a professional boxer, entrepreneur, coach, and promoter, but above all I’m passionate about creating opportunities for people through boxing.
I compete professionally while also running Krown Boxing Promotions, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing boxing promotions. My goal is to give fighters of all levels a professional platform to perform, grow, and gain valuable experience. Seeing athletes progress from their first fight to becoming champions is something I’m incredibly proud of.
I also founded The Fight Lab, a fighter development platform that helps boxers build their personal brands, grow their social media, attract sponsorships, and create long-term careers outside the ring. I believe today’s athletes need more than talent—they need to understand business, marketing, and how to create opportunities for themselves.
What sets me apart is that I’ve lived every part of the journey. I started boxing at 27 with no amateur background, fought my way onto major stages including BKFC and DAZN, built successful businesses around the sport, and continue to compete while helping others achieve their own goals. I understand the challenges because I’ve experienced them firsthand.
The achievement I’m most proud of isn’t a title or a single fight. It’s building something that has a lasting impact. Whether it’s promoting boxing events, helping fighters secure sponsorships, coaching someone to believe in themselves, or inspiring people to chase goals they thought were out of reach, that’s the legacy I want to leave. My mission is to prove that it’s never too late to change your life and that hard work, resilience, and consistency can open doors you never imagined.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe luck is what creates success, but I do believe preparation creates opportunities that some people call luck.
Throughout my life and career, I’ve experienced both good and bad luck. I’ve dealt with injuries, opponent changes, cancelled fights, financial pressures, and setbacks that could easily have made me quit. At the same time, I’ve had opportunities that many people dream of, like fighting on DAZN, signing with BKFC, building successful businesses, and connecting with incredible people who believed in my vision.
The difference is that when opportunities came, I was ready for them because of the work I’d already put in. I don’t think those moments happened by accident—they came from years of consistency, discipline, and showing up every day, even when nobody was watching.
I also believe that every setback has taught me something valuable. What might have seemed like bad luck at the time often pushed me in a better direction, whether that was starting Krown Boxing Promotions, creating The Fight Lab, or finding new ways to help others in the sport.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can’t control luck, but you can control your attitude, your work ethic, and your willingness to keep going. In the long run, those things matter far more than luck ever will.
