Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Allure.
Hi DJ, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always loved music. I’ve played the violin for several years. Thanks to my mother being diverse in her music selection, it allowed to have an open mind and take top many styles of music that were not necessarily the norm in my environment. With that said, me becoming a DJ came about when a friend asked me to help him with music at a local lounge in Baltimore. I agreed. The owner enjoyed it and asked to me to come on other nights and DJ ALLURE was born.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey to where I am today has been a revolving door of fun/satisfaction mixed with disappointment and annoyances. I would say one of the biggest struggles is when attempting to land a new opportunity and KNOWING how well of a fit you would be but the talent booker “Overlooking” you. I used parentheses because with that, I’ve learned perhaps my two most IMPORTANT lessons in my journey. “There is NO emotions in business” and “TIMING IS EVERYTHING”. It’s very easy to think that people are purposely overlooking you, I’ve learned many factors may lead to you not getting the desired results. and it’s super important to always remain respectful and professional (even in rejection).
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
My Instagram and Facebook is the easiest way to get in contact with me. If you’re interested in music and mixes. you just type DJ ALLURE in any Music platform (Spotify, Apple, etc.) and I should come up.
