Conversations with Cianna Alexis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cianna Alexis

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Cianna, also known as LEXXI to some.
I am an independent artist, as well as aspiring model, actress and visionary.
My goals came about at a very young age. I knew that I wanted to do work where I can express my creativity and creative freedom, and I’ve always loved music.
Growing up, I loved listening to music, I attended choir classes from grade school to high school, as well as singing for the congressional choir in Washington DC.
I took it amongst myself to start making and releasing music when I finally hit high school. I love the feeling that it brought me I love the recognition that it got me and I love sharing my art.
I spent my years after high school, focusing on my work life, moving into my first apartment on my own which was actually located in West Baltimore.
This was a great experience for me. I got to learn a lot from this .About two years later. I ended up moving back to DC, where I made a commitment to myself that I would put more energy into myself and what I want to do with my life.
In late March of 2024, I dropped my first new song under my rebrand as well as a music video. Which was all recorded on my iPhone with some regular Apple headphones as well as the first few videos. I feel that I’m the definition of working with what I have to make something happen .
I continue to drop consistently, so I can put a face to my music. Dropping a total of over 14 songs before the 2024 year concluded. Some of these songs were compiled into My first EP drop. I’m hyper independent, so I proceeded to reach out to venue owners to see when I can perform at open mics and showcases. I did a total of three shows and I’m happy I did, the crowd turnout may not always be what you expect, but it’s always great practice and a fun enjoyable networking experience!
While in the process of trying to promote myself, ive connected some great individuals all with their own special stories to tell.
I’ve recently tapped into modeling , Focusing on building my portfolio and building my image as a model / artist .
I would love to use the modeling as a foot in the door to potential acting opportunities, brand deals or just the next opportunity in general.

I feel like I’ve had a couple of hardships and circumstances, growing up, but I also was surrounded by a lot of love and support by the people that really matter! I do everything for mine and my family, I plan to leave a legacy! I will leave a legacy.
I would never let what I’ve been through or where I come from make me, I feel like I’m worthy of a chance at the life I want so I make sure to put the work in so I can attain & maintain that lifestyle. I hope to make a positive impact on peoples lives and just be an inspiration for a young entrepreneurs and people in general. It’s never too late to lock in and do what you’re passionate about. Speak life into yourself and the things you plan to do and watch how it unravels.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road. There are definitely ups and downs and plenty hardships. At the age of 23 I can say that I’ve seen a lot. I’ve had to do a lot to get to where I’m at. I’ve had to work very hard.
Unfortunately, I lost my father to senseless gun violence when i was rather young.
Which is one of the things that really pushes me and makes me think more, because he was young but I feel like he had a whole life ahead of him. Everyday, I remember how young he was when he lost his life I remember that tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
So I make sure to get up every day and make the most out of it. I try to live my life with no regrets .

Another obstacle is just trying to find balance. Being a entrepreneur is a lot of work and takes a lot of time ,money and energy. So, I’m doing all of this while working a normal job to make ends meet and to have money to put into and fund my goals and ideas. So I would say balance, and not Allowing myself to get too overwhelmed. I have to constantly remind myself all the work that I’m doing now is for the bigger picture & that it’s worth it! Keeping up with self-care & my mental state Can definitely be a challenge at times.

Although I may have lost people I love, and been through many trials and tribulations, I’m a strong believer of everything happens for a reason., and whatever that is I’m here to tell my story and write my own book and leave a legacy for my family 🖤

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an independent artist, model, visionary and aspiring actress.
I am known for just being a creative soul. I love all things arts, and I always have .
I love the thought of just being able to express myself and multiple different forms and variations.

Im Most proud of me taking initiative in the first step to put myself out there because no one is going to do it for you.
This year I think one of my bigger accomplishments is actually doing live open mics, being as though I’m kind of kept to myself. I think perfoming was needed So I can break into the industry for real. And I love the adrenaline I got from it, as well as the love afterwards.

I think what sets me apart from others is my authenticity, style , & ambition. I try to stay versatile when it comes to my music, my sound, look and pretty much all aspects of my life .
Also, my confidence. There are many artists, many actors, many models, but there is only one me. I feel like confidence will set you up for success in this industry., you have to believe in yourself more than anybody around you in all honesty.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Me personally, I do not have a mentor.
I do have people that I surround myself with that are like-minded. As well as people with different opinions it’s always great to see stuff from different perspectives.
I typically go to local “arts” related events to meet new people and network which has been helpful and has worked well for me.
