Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Diggs.
Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My passion for fitness and journey to weight loss started back in 2017. At the time, I was overweight and weighed 220 lbs. Food was my weakness and I wasn’t very active at all. During that time, I was going through a tough time in my personal life, and working out became my outlet. It was very therapeutic for me. I wanted to change the way I thought and the things that I was putting into my body.
I started to keep track of my calorie intake and made healthy alternative decisions. I worked out seven days a week for at least 30 to 45 minutes. Over time, I started to see my body transform and I loved the results! I documented my workouts and health tips on my social media platform to encourage others in their weight loss journey.
When the COVID outbreak started in December of 2019, I began to receive a lot of inquiries about personal training, I then knew that my calling was to help others with their fitness goals. I launched my first Boot Camp that year and had over 34 participants. I was amazed and shocked at how many people were inspired by something that I simply loved doing.
Today, I have now launched my GymHabits: 2022 Boot Camp with the hopes to reach new participants and assist beginners with their weight loss journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Through this journey, I have learned a lot about myself. What I struggled most with was believing in myself. I thought that I had to look or be an IG fitness model to sell my brand, but in reality, I simply just needed to be me.
The personal training business has picked up over the years and it is a very competitive field for clientele. My advice is to let your work speak for itself. If you are good at what you do, others will notice. Your clients will refer others to you. If it’s your passion, never give up on it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Certified Personal Trainer and the owner of my fitness brand, GymHabits. My program specializes in assisting beginners with their weight loss journey. My job is to guide my clients in the right direction of making healthy choices.
I’m super proud of all my clients because they never give up and they continue to push, even when they are ready to through in the towel. I believe what sets me apart from other trainers is that I like to make my workout classes fun. I like to get to know my clients and build a rapport with them.
They all work together in my group classes and encourage each other along the way.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
You have to be humble and patient. I learned that being humble about my transformation has made me stand out and shows my genuineness.
You have to be patient because everyone is not as disciplined when it comes to letting go of their old eating habits. You have to be able to be that positive reinforcement for your clients. (Reminding them that the hard work will pay off, even if they don’t see the results immediately.)
