Conversations with Asia Karin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Karin. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Asia Karin started as an average kid from Baltimore who once had a love for basketball but later found my gift in singing. I started making music in December 2016, when I would post on every corner of Baltimore city and sing. I then started posting 1-minute singing videos on Instagram, which got me more recognition in other cities. As time passed, I continued gaining more buzz through the city by performing at many open mics there in Baltimore. I got to a point where I began to feel stuck. I felt my singing career was stagnant, and it was time for me to leave the city. To move to a city with more opportunities. So, that’s what I did. In February of 2019, I moved to Atlanta, ga. Surely but slowly, I began to find my way around Atlanta to network with the right people. I drove Uber as my source of income and used it as a networking tool.

I didn’t have much money, but I had great music. So, whenever a passenger entered my vehicle, I’d share my music/venture with them. That led me to meet my producer/great friend Chris P. From that day on. We created nothing but great music together. In February 2021, I decided to focus solely on being a songwriter. I landed a writing placement in the movie “For The Love Of Money,” which was released in November 2021. As time passed, I realized I was ready to focus on my artistry again. Here we are in 2022, and I recently released my latest single, “Ego.”

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I’ve been shit down as an Artist many times (in my opinion) because of my image. I’m always offered to be a writer instead of being offered to be an artist. Some other struggles are being able to stay motivated when you can’t see the end. It’s hard to stay motivated when it’s obvious that you’re gifted and have the music but are always overlooked. More struggles financially being an artist is hard because you need money to push your music. So you have to find a way. I found a way by getting a better-paying job to fun my music career.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known as Asia Karin, aka “Miss Singing With A Rapping Flow.” A blend of vocal harmonies with a bit of many different rapping flows. I’m most proud of how I make people feel when they hear my voice. What sets me apart from others is my passion for what I do. Nobody can make people feel the passion that comes from within me when I sing. It’s magical.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some changes you expect to see over the next five to ten years?
I see myself being one of the biggest artists in the industry. An A-list Artist, sharing my gift with people I’d never imagine. I do believe I’ll help bring r&b back to the music industry.
