Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyneka Pack.
Hi Tyneka, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was always skinny, that is how my story starts! From grade school all the way through my college days, I have always been smaller in size.
In 2013, I decided to take on a new activity and started working out because I wanted to look “toned”. Through the early part of my fitness journey, I had the pleasure of meeting this group of women who all worked out together but they all competed in bodybuilding competitions. I wasn’t interested in that, I just loved the support so I started working out with them. While attending one of their shows, I saw this woman on stage and I was amazed at her physique. It was at that moment I decided I wanted to try a body-building competition!
2015 was the first time I stepped on stage and continued to compete in a total of 10 shows. Through the course of those few years, I have been asked if I trained other people and it was suggested I give it a try.
At that point, I had absolutely no interest in doing so. I just wanted to work out and continue to build the body I wanted. It wasn’t until I had a conversation with one of my closest friends about this possibility that I decided to give it a try. One of my biggest supporters and ended up being my first client to kick start my business.
With the personal growth and confidence, I gained during my years of competing, I wanted to help women feel the same way. I have had the opportunity to work with countless individuals since starting in 2017. ImPACKt Fitness has grown to offer more services other than personal training. We now offer Nutritional Coaching as well as competition final touches (posing and makeup services under ImPACKt Posing).
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not always! Of course, in the beginning, stages of any business, there are going to be challenged. I would say my biggest was time management.
When I first started ImPACKt Fitness, I was also a self-employed insurance agent. I was always working but struggled to manage time as well as set boundaries for self-care. I found myself burned out a lot. It got to the point my clients started forcing me to take time off. I did eventually realize that it is okay to take time off, I was always in the mindset of working. But in a profession where you have to pour into others, you have to make sure that you keep your cup full.
Another challenge was getting through the times of COVID. Being a personal trainer, my home is the gym. It is where I ran my business. But when the gyms were shut down, I had to improvise on how I was going to be able to still train my clients. We have done it all! From training at a local high school track until they locked the gates and kicked us out! To doing Zoom sessions and having to improvise with equipment each of my clients had at home.
Until we ended up at a local park and trained on the basketball court with all of the equipment I invested in use. This was summer 2020 so we were there early in the morning before it got too hot. We trained there until the gyms finally opened back up. Talk about rolling with the punches. I love and appreciate my clients so much rolling through that with me!
To be honest, those workouts were amazing and I still incorporate some of the improvised workouts in my programs today!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
ImPACKt Fitness is a minority and woman-owned fitness company based in Glen Burnie, MD. We help working and professional women build their confidence while building the body of their dreams.
The health portion of IPF offers in-person training, online training as well as Nutrition Coaching services. There is also a competition service side that offers posing coach services and make-up under ImPACKt Posing. The two years IPF was known as just a personal training company. But now, we are growing and expanding the competition services to where we are now known for both.
Whether you are looking to improve your overall health and physique or looking to step on the stage, ImPACKt Fitness can help in your journey one way or another!
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe the greater the risk, the greater the reward. But also no matter how big or small the risk is, I believe most are worth taking! As an entrepreneur, that is where we do.
Risks are necessary to grow and succeed. We never know what could happen from it. From new opportunities to just learning and growing if we end up not being successful in taking that particular risk. We grow from that and use it going forward. We learn what works and what doesn’t and that only fuels and boosts our confidence for the next one.
I have definitely taken risks in my business from launching a program that didn’t do as well as I thought. To offer a new service that I was not sure about but ended up growing quicker than I could have imagined. But these also landed me an ambassadorship with a supplement company that I have personally been a client of for a few years!
You can not be an entrepreneur or leader without the word “risk” in your vocabulary.

Tyneka Pack is a great trainer. She is extremely knowledgeable about physical fitness and has the ability to make her clients feel comfortable in the gym, especially for those who are new or haven’t been to the gym for some time. Her training programs are adaptable for any fitness level. Since 2018, I’ve been a Impackt Fitness client and would highly recommend Tyneka if you looking to invest into hiring a personal trainer. From the customized training and nutritional plans, Tyneka has transformed not only my body, but I enjoy working out with other Impackt Fitness clients. We’ve created a support group and hold each other accountable to reach our training goals … It’s the Impackt fitness community! I’m proud of Tyneka. #ThatsMyTrainer Congratulations!
