Bohemia Overlook has always been a special place along the Elk River, and when our family had the chance to take it on, we knew we wanted to preserve its beauty while making it a place where people could celebrate life’s biggest moments. We officially became the new owners in 2024, though the property had already been home to countless love stories before us.
Our journey started with a shared passion for hospitality and creating spaces that bring people together. Owning a vineyard and wedding venue felt like the perfect way to blend those passions while also investing in our local community here in North East, Maryland.
We’re proud to be a small, family-owned and operated business. Every wedding we host is personal to us, and we treat our couples like part of the family. At the end of the day, what matters most to us is making sure every couple feels cared for and celebrated as they begin their next chapter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any new chapter, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been making the property truly our own while still honoring the history of Bohemia Overlook. We’ve spent time refreshing spaces, updating processes, and building a team that feels like family.
Those challenges have shaped the experience we offer today. Every improvement has been made with our couples in mind — from creating spaces that feel warm and welcoming to making sure the planning process feels smooth and personal. At the end of the day, our goal is to ensure each couple feels cared for and celebrated, and those early struggles have helped us build a venue where love stories can shine.

How do you think about happiness?
I love giving tours to couples and watching them fall in love with the property — seeing their faces light up when they imagine their day here never gets old. What makes me happiest is spending their wedding day with them, witnessing the little moments (the first look, the toasts, the dance) and knowing we helped create the start of their happily ever after.
