Community Highlights: Meet Shawnta Warfield of I’m So Boards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawnta Warfield.

Hi Shawnta, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve spent much of my career in public service, working in budgeting and finance while also pursuing opportunities that allow me to connect with people and make an impact in my community. Looking back, one of the common threads throughout my journey has been a love for bringing people together.

After years in public service, I became a Realtor and co-founded The Warfield Group, helping clients navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives. Real estate gave me the opportunity to build relationships, serve others, and guide people through major life transitions. It reinforced something I had always enjoyed: helping people feel informed, supported, and confident during important moments.

In 2020, during the uncertainty of the pandemic, I started I’m So Boards as a creative outlet. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a business creating elevated charcuterie experiences for celebrations, corporate events, and special gatherings. I discovered a passion for combining creativity, hospitality, and design to create experiences that encourage people to slow down, connect, and enjoy time together.

As life became increasingly busy with career, family, and entrepreneurship, I began exploring wellness practices that helped me create balance and make time for myself. Yoga became an important part of that journey, helping me manage stress, be more present, and reconnect with what mattered most.

That personal experience eventually inspired Flow + Grace, an elevated wellness experience focused on movement, mindfulness, community, and intentional living. My goal was to create a space where people could step away from the demands of everyday life, invest in their well-being, and build meaningful connections with others.

Today, I continue to balance public service, real estate, entrepreneurship, and community-building. While each path looks different on the surface, they are all rooted in the same purpose: creating meaningful experiences, serving others, and bringing people together. The journey has taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and staying open to opportunities that align with both passion and purpose.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing multiple responsibilities while building businesses and maintaining a full-time career in public service. There have been seasons where I was juggling work, family, entrepreneurship, community commitments, and the everyday demands of life, all at the same time.

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced moments of self-doubt and wondered whether I was taking on too much. Building something from the ground up requires a tremendous amount of time, energy, and persistence, especially when you’re doing it alongside other responsibilities.

Another challenge has been learning that success isn’t just about achievement. For a long time, I focused on accomplishing the next goal without always making space to recharge. That realization ultimately led me to prioritize wellness and become more intentional about creating balance in my life.

Looking back, those challenges taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of giving myself grace. They also reinforced something I believe deeply today: growth doesn’t always happen in the easiest seasons. Often, the most meaningful lessons come from learning how to navigate uncertainty, trust the process, and keep moving forward

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m So Boards Modern Charcuterie creates elevated grazing experiences designed to bring people together. What started as a creative outlet in 2020 has grown into a business focused on connection, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences through beautifully curated food displays.

We specialize in charcuterie boards, grazing tables, corporate events, private celebrations, and custom experiences that transform food into a centerpiece for gathering and conversation. Every event is thoughtfully designed to reflect the client’s vision while creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming, intentional, and memorable.

What sets us apart is that we’re not simply serving food; we’re creating experiences. At the heart of the brand is a belief that some of life’s most meaningful moments happen when people slow down and connect with one another.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how the business continues to evolve. While charcuterie remains the foundation, that same passion for connection and community inspired the creation of Flow + Grace, an elevated wellness experience that brings people together through movement, mindfulness, and intentional living.

Whether through a grazing table, a corporate event, or a wellness gathering, the mission remains the same: creating beautiful experiences that encourage connection, community, and celebration.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is creating experiences that bring people together. Whether it’s helping a family find a home, watching guests gather around a grazing table, or seeing people connect during a Flow + Grace event, I love creating spaces where meaningful moments can happen.

I also find happiness in the simple things: spending time with my family, being outdoors, practicing yoga, traveling, and sharing good food and conversation with people I care about. Those moments remind me to slow down and be present.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that happiness isn’t found in constantly chasing the next accomplishment. It’s found in connection, balance, gratitude, and being able to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Knowing that something I’ve created helped someone feel celebrated, supported, inspired, or connected brings me the greatest joy.
