Today we’d like to introduce you to Nailah Queen.
Hi Nailah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After suffering from the stress of the pandemic, it took its toll on my hair and body. I was losing my hair and my body was battling the after-effects of Covid-19. I wanted more protection for my body and to regrow my hair and my products did just that. I decided that the world needed these products, to help them battle the same things I’ve been battling myself, so Regally Insane was birthed.
What started at my dining room table has allowed me the ability to offer alternatives and helpful products to my community, particularly African Americans. We are often overlooked when it comes to healthy options from food to medical care, and this allows me to make a difference. Regally Insane Hair and Body Health Line™️ is the perfect combination of healthy hair and body wellness products that help consumers to achieve overall body health.
The healthy hair line promotes healthy and natural protection against hair loss or shedding brought on by the stress of the current Pandemic. Concurrently, the body wellness line was created out of the need to offer healthy and natural protection for the body during these uncertain days and give alternatives besides medication to our community with a focus on the common health issues that African Americans face.
Through personal trial and error, our products have consistently shown radical results and alternative treatment for customers; ideally African Americans, those on-the-go, front-line workers, and regular travelers.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t always been a smooth road, especially starting during the pandemic. The challenges we faced were with marketing and the ability to offer in-person events to educate the community we serve.
We have pivoted some by hosting virtual events but we really need to be hands-on with a lot of the customers we serve so that’s a major focus for me.
We’ve been impressed with Regally Insane, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We offer healthy wellness alternatives to underrepresented people by bringing awareness and introducing healthy products that they can apply to their daily routine and be used by the entire family. Healthy lifestyles start with education and exposure.
Many people who live in underrepresented communities have lacked the exposure and education about healthy alternatives to prevent diseases along with maintaining a healthy natural lifestyle. Oftentimes the first time many are diagnosed with a condition or illness, it’s the first time of hearing about how to avoid and prevent it.
My company works to change that narrative, by offering convenient products that are beneficial to the whole family and by educating those who are unaware of the possible health risk. We have donated bottles of our hair growth oil to the Trayvon Martins Foundation Circle of Mothers, Cancer survivors, and diabetes patients to help lower their A1C naturally.
We are community-driven and are focused on making a difference in the communities we serve.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For any new entrepreneur, my advice would be” Treat your business like it’s BIG if you want it to be BIG”. I can’t stress enough how small businesses fall short by undervaluing themselves and cutting corners. Branding matters, websites matter, and hiring the right people to do what you can’t matters. Look at your company as a fortune 500 from the beginning, if you want others to do the same.
In addition to the previous, I also stand firmly behind “Success involves networking, support, and collaboration.” Even if the business is in the same field as yours or you sell similar or the same products, it’s okay to network, collaborate and build.
So many look at it as competition when the only one you should be competing with is yourself and being a better version than you were the day before. Helping the next business owner costs nothing and you can reach more people collaboratively than you can do by yourself. I promise you won’t dim your light by helping another person screw their light bulb in. Collaborating and networking are essential to your growth.
One thing that I learned along the way and I grew to understand during my entrepreneurial journey has been “People fed off of how we treat and present our companies and even in business you teach people how to treat you.” Set the tone early and show up for you and your business consistently.
It builds trust. Customers/clients pay attention to everything. Trust me they will question “If you’re not showing up for yourself, how can you do it for me?”
