Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenyonn Gregory.
Hi Kenyonn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well I am a 31 year old entrepreneur, father, son, farmer and so much more. As the years have gone on I have slowly found my niche and what truly brings me joy. I grew up in Baltimore on Pennsylvania Ave. The culture would say I grew up on the avenue lol lol. But my life started rocky and it was clear then that God had his hand on my life and wanted to use me for His purpose. See I wasn’t even supposed to be here. My grandfather left his family because my mother became pregnant with me. He forced my aunt to do it when she was pregnant so she was and told my grandmother if I come he’s leaving and my grandmother said “well goodbye, im not getting rid of another grandchild. I grew up in rejection, I grew up where the enemy tried to create a lot of Sabatoge and trauma to knock me off .y tracks. Growing up I had low self esteem issues and identity issues. After being touched as a young child it created a whirlwind of trauma and confusion. Not to help growing up in a abusive household it was evident that I should only be another statistic. It got so bad that my grandmother told my mother If she continued to put her hand on us she would call cps. I always was an exceptional kid I loved animals and science so as I grew up and went through school I ended up graduating early and my last year of school I interned for the Anne Arundel county sheriff’s department. Sheriff Ronald Bateman was an intricate figure in my life that helped me become more disciplined and understand everyone is needed to keep the machine moving forward. No one is unnecessary. That internship went so well I eneded up staying 3 extra months and was apart of their sert team doing ride alongs and clerk work. Once I left I went to Chick-fil-A and became very successful I ended up becoming a general manager and traveled the east coast helping open stores and create systems. Little did I know this would open me up to business management and the beautiful world of entrepreneurship. So fast forward 6years in the company and im married with a child and lose my job. This started a rocky and tumultuous journey of separations and learning. The pandemic rolls around and I have a landscape and lawncare business. At that time I had a client ask if we knew any cleaners and I immediately said oh we do that too. They became my first clients and ended up shouting us out to a few houses in their neighborhood. I ran into someone who helped me administrative and become licensed and insured. We stepped into commercial business and have been scaling and growing ever since. However as I stated earlier. God still had his hands on me and began to move and cause me to shift focus. I was so focused on me and mine I never thought about giving back and helping others. As life continued I ended up becoming apart of a few business communities and created partnerships and there i found my gift that was just a hobby to me. Farming & gardening. You see that’s always been just a hobby and love of mine I never knew I could position myself to help others and teach in this capacity. Now I have a non profit named Mogul Foundation where we help people not just live a successful life monetarily but holistically. Real wealth is health. Real wealth isn’t money but knowledge. Now I show others how to live a life in Christ and how from that flows everything else. I have dealt with so much loss and disappointments but the one constant has been God. Im so grateful to live the life that I do now, teaching others how to grow their own food, become resilient and truly go form surviving to thriving.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t always smooth no not at all. No one is exempt of going through something but I’ll share a difficult season in my life that actually turned beautiful. 2022 my father passed a few days before his birthday. At that time I became very depressed because we just reconnected in 2018 so I felt ripped I felt like cheated.. well in that sadness and turmoil 3 months later I came back home from work and my wife at that time stated she wanted a divorce and I had to leave the home. At that moment I was homeless and lived in a friend’s couch for a year. That was such a dark time for me. Not only was I grieving the loss of my father but also now my family. It wasn’t till a church service at my home church The father’s house of Baltimore that I had an encounter with God again. He washed away all the weights and left me with peace and an identity in him. I was able to turn that pain and trauma into fuel and energy to keep fighting and keep going harder. I hated that season in my life but it taught me so many valuable lessons
