Community Highlights: Meet Kenneth Clay of Chef Kenneth Clay LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Clay.

Hi Kenneth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my culinary career journey shortly after graduating high school, landing my first job on Capitol Hill. After completing culinary school, I became Executive Chef working at hotels and Restaurants throughout the Washington D.C. and Maryland region. I embarked on a career at Clyde’s Restaurant Group. Where I was able to showcase my culinary skills for 21 years.
As a Culinary Instructor, I began teaching classes at local culinary schools and with Howard County Parks and Recreation., Prince George County, Fairfax County School Systems and Prince George’s County Memorial Library.

I was honored to be the featured chef on the Holland America’s Westerdam Caribbean Cruise Line and featured on local TV networks such as CBS, NBC, Fox, local magazines, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Afro-American, and radio stations.,
and chosen to be a guest Panelist at the University of Maryland’s “Creative Dialogue Series” Writing and Celebrating in the African American Tradition.

I started my Catering company 7 years ago and have catered for Netflix, Elton John at the White House, Capital One Bank, Adidas, Hair Cuttery, Stefon Diggs, Trinity Rodman and Georgetown University.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always challenges, there was bumps in the road learning to run my business when I first started.

I have a Catering company, We cater Production Shoots, Weddings, Parties, Corporate, Family Reunions.
We specialize in American Classics, International and Comfort Foods.
We bring restaurant quality food and Service to every event.

My mom, dad, all of my culinary instructors, and chefs that were there in the beginning
