Jessyca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Jessyca, and I am the Owner and Lead Mixologist of BlushXBeige Mobile Bartending—an upscale, experiential bartending service serving weddings, private events, and corporate celebrations throughout the Washington, DC metro area and beyond.
Though proudly based in my hometown of Alexandria, VA, BlushXBeige has traveled across the United States, bringing elevated bar experiences to clients from all walks of life.
This past November marked a significant milestone. BlushXBeige turned five years old. As I celebrated that anniversary, I couldn’t help but reflect on the journey that brought me here—a path filled with purpose, perseverance, and grace.
Where It All Began
Since childhood, I knew I wanted to be a business owner. My grandmother kept an office in her basement, and out of pure imagination, my cousin and I turned it into our own little corporate empire. We traded turns being the boss and the secretary, and something powerful happened when it was my turn to lead—I felt confident, capable, and impactful.
Those early memories planted a seed in me. Even though I didn’t yet know what I wanted to build, I knew I wanted to create something of my own—something that carried my unique mark.
Creating a Brand With Meaning
Before I could serve a single client, I needed a name—one that expressed who we were and what we represented. I prayed for clarity. The answer came as BlushXBeige.
• Blush for my wine lovers—red and white blended together create a blush tone.
• Beige for my spirit lovers—brown and white liquors mixed create a beige hue.
• The “X” symbolizing a unique twist, and more importantly, our commitment to serving all people and all events with excellence.
From day one, my mission was intentional: to build a standout brand and deliver a personalized, luxury experience for every client.
Becoming the Woman I Once Imagined
As a little girl, I dreamt of owning a business, but I never imagined I’d become a mixologist. Entering an industry I knew nothing about brought moments of doubt and waves of imposter syndrome. But with every event served, every client who turned into family, and every vendor who embraced me, I realized something profound:
I am exactly who I’m supposed to be.
I am not just a bartender—I am a creator of experiences, a curator of joy, and a woman who turned her pain into something powerful.
Five years later, BlushXBeige stands not only as a business, but as a symbol of faith, resilience, and transformation. And my journey is still being written.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am a firm believer that purpose can be born out of pain, and my life is a testament to that truth. As a single mother to my extraordinary son, Najon, I learned early that adversity requires faith, determination, and grace.
Najon was born with a rare congenital heart condition, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. By the time he was four, he had already undergone three open-heart surgeries. For nearly seventeen years, he navigated countless medical procedures, emergency admissions, and the frustration of simply wanting to be a “normal” kid.
I was a single mom with a broken heart raising a child whose heart had been physically broken and rebuilt—yet together, we pressed forward. I didn’t have all the answers. I was scared, overwhelmed, and exhausted. But I knew three things with absolute certainty:
1. God was with us and in control.
2. I would remain by his side.
3. I would build a life that honored both of us.
The Birth of BlushXBeige
BlushXBeige was born during one of the most uncertain times in modern history—the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as mixing cocktails to cope with stress slowly evolved into a calling. At the same time, burnout from my 9–5 was wearing me down. I needed a path that allowed me to breathe, create, and build.
When the world began to open again, I attended a baby shower that featured a mobile bartending service. My brother was a DJ at the time, and I thought, Why not pair my creativity with his music and build something together?
That thought sent me on a search that led to Professional Bartending School in Arlington, VA. Thirty minutes into my first class, I texted my best friends:
“My life is about to change.”
And it did.
