Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermaine Nicholson.
Jermaine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Baltimore, where I always had a bit of an entrepreneurial spirit bubbling under the surface—even as a kid, I vaguely remember hustling candy bars in middle school to make some extra pocket money. Growing up, though, investing wasn’t something we talked about at home; it just wasn’t part of the conversation. That changed a little when I started working in my early 20s and learned about contributing to a 401(k)—but honestly, it felt more like an automatic deduction from my paycheck than a real strategy. I didn’t dive deeper until right before COVID hit, when I landed a higher-paying job and realized I wanted to be smarter about managing my finances.
That’s when I started educating myself, beginning with Dave Ramsey’s “The Total Money Makeover.” That book was a game-changer—it completely shifted my perspective on the power of starting to invest early and being intentional with money. With all the downtime in 2020, I kept building on that, expanding my personal library and devouring books on personal finance and investing. Reading and learning during that period, especially seeing what happened to the stock market in March of 2020, really shifted my mindset on how the world operates. I remember that shock drop vividly, and it got me thinking: What industries would actually benefit from this chaos? Biotech and healthcare jumped out at me right away, so I invested in a couple of ETFs that turned out to be solid picks after a few months. Later that year, as I dove deeper into stocks and even Bitcoin, it inspired me to create the Bmore Wealthy brand (a play on my Baltimore roots and the idea of building wealth through smart investing).
It’s mostly a personal passion project where I share what books I’m reading and the lessons I’ve pulled from them on my social media, plus some streetwear apparel that spreads the message of investing and wealth-building. I never saw myself as an artist or designer—I still don’t—but whenever an idea hits me about something investing-related, I try my hand at creating it and sharing it with the world. Honestly, I never expected the brand to grow like it has, with customers all over the globe. I’ve shipped orders to virtually every state in America, across Europe—including spots like London and Paris—and even a shoutout to the deployed folks in our military who’ve supported it along the way and have had to shipped to where they are. It sparked a passion that’s brought me to where I am today, applying those lessons in my career and life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, especially in the beginning when i was just starting. Didn’t know how to market the brand and share the created ideas to the target audience i was attempting to reach, which was mainly the Gen-Z/Millennial crowd that I’m apart of. I remember me just DMing every influencer I could think of that had the target audience that I wanted to reach and by the grace of God it led me to an individual that organically saw the brand, made a purchase, shared with his audience and a ton of eyes came to my brand, and honestly the rest has been history there and me learning from the experience allowed me to have some content to share and attract more customers.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We’re an innovative streetwear brand centered around investing, where our mission is to make financial literacy accessible and stylish. At our core, we design and produce clothing that incorporates clever, thought-provoking messages about investing. We’re known for blending urban fashion with educational vibes, turning everyday apparel into conversation starters that spark curiosity about building wealth.
What truly sets us apart from other streetwear brands is our dual focus: aesthetics and impact. While many brands prioritize hype or trends, ours ensures every piece not only looks cool but also promotes positive financial habits. It’s not just merch—it’s a subtle way to teach investing principles without feeling preachy.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of seeing people rock our gear because they genuinely love the style, only to realize it’s quietly spreading empowering messages. That organic fusion of fashion and finance feels revolutionary, and it’s what differentiates us in a crowded market.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I wouldn’t say luck at all, but being covered and blessed by my Lord and savior Jesus Christ is the reason I am where i am today in life and my business. I truly believe that my faith is the reason that I’ve had any success at all with this brand and is another main reason why I’ve began to shift my brand focus to include foundational biblical quotes that speak upon the message of the designs I’ve created.
