Community Highlights: Meet Holly Baynham of R Street Studio, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Baynham.

Hi Holly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I love music, technology and composing music. I started R Street Studio to bring that love of composing and recording my music to fruition. The process began by wanting to learn about the recording arts because I didn’t have a clue about recording terminology. But after a lot self learning and researching what gear I needed, I began to slowly build the business. Not only have I gained joy in recording my own music, but there is joy in helping artists tell their story musically.

Since R Street Studio is a woman owned business I have a mission to be an example to up and coming female producers and engineers to pursue careers in the recording industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The process of running the business has certainly not been smooth. Anything but!
The challenges have been building clientele, generating cash flow bringing people in who don’t share your vision.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have friends, family,my partner and even my clients who have deep belief in what I’m building. I can also credit my present studio manager for helping me to generate business and assist in managing things in the studio so I wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed with the everyday tasks of running the business. However, I credit many of my friends for reminding me of what I built and to make sure I took ownership of it. They also encouraged me to be confident in my abilities.
