Today we’d like to introduce you to David Mziray.
Hi David, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story really started long before the business did, around the kitchen tables and front porches of my parents and grandparents, who taught me that how you treat people is everything. They showed me that respect, hard work, and showing up for family aren’t just nice ideas. They’re the foundation of a life well lived. Those values led me to build My Home Cares, a Maryland-based home care company rooted in the same lessons I grew up with: service matters, dignity matters, and every single family we walk alongside matters.
As things grew, I realized the home care industry needed more than just great caregivers. It needed better systems. That’s what pushed me to launch CareLink and start building HomelyCare, a tech platform designed to make quality care easier to access, deliver, and scale. When the original direction wasn’t serving our clients and partners in care the way it needed to, I made the call to start over and rebuild it the right way. It wasn’t easy, but leadership sometimes means having the courage to go back to the drawing board. Along the way I’ve worn every hat. Operator, builder, marketer, the person setting money aside each week to keep things healthy. I’ve learned that growth happens in the quiet, unglamorous work behind the scenes.
Today, I’m focused on weaving it all together: the heart of My Home Cares, the connection of CareLink, and the technology of HomelyCare. I’m building toward something that brings more harmony, dignity, and human connection to how care is delivered in Maryland and beyond. I’m just getting started, and honestly, that’s the part I love most.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, no, it hasn’t been smooth, and I don’t think I’d trust it if it had been. In the early stages, you wear every hat. Operator, builder, marketer, bookkeeper, problem solver. There’s no off switch, and you learn quickly that building something meaningful means showing up for the parts nobody sees.
But the harder piece is the emotional weight. In home care, the stakes aren’t abstract. These are real families trusting us with their loved ones, and that responsibility stays with you. That weight is also what keeps me grounded. It reminds me why I started, and it’s shaped the leader I’m becoming. Smooth roads don’t build anything lasting. The bumps do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about My Home Cares, LLC.?
At our core, we’re a Maryland-based home care company built on one simple promise: where service matters, our clients and partners in care come first. My Home Cares provides compassionate, personalized in-home care for loved ones of all ages, including skilled nursing, companion care, personal care, respite, and homemaking. Whether a family is planning ahead for a parent, caring for a spouse, or navigating a sudden change, we’re there to walk alongside them with dignity and heart.
What sets us apart is the way we show up. We don’t treat care like a transaction. We treat every client as a partner in care, and every caregiver as an extension of the family we’re serving. That mindset shapes everything, from how we hire to how we communicate to how we build the systems behind the scenes. That’s also why we’re becoming more than a home care company. With CareLink and HomelyCare, we’re building the connection and technology that will make great care easier to access and deliver across Maryland and beyond.
Brand wise, what I’m most proud of is that our values aren’t just words on a brochure. Extending Care, Enriching Lives is something our team actually lives out every single day, in the small moments that matter most. If there’s one thing I want your readers to know, it’s this: when you trust us with your family, you’re not just hiring a service. You’re gaining a partner who genuinely cares, shows up with heart, and treats your loved one the way we’d want our own to be treated.
