Community Highlights: Meet Carson Ward of Herablooms

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carson Ward.

Hi Carson, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Today I am selling roses. But not just any roses. I sell real roses that last for a year. It’s a miracle. Early into my career, I never thought I’d get into the floral business. I did not grow up around a big garden, and my parents practiced law. I ended up pursuing a career in entertainment. It was not until the pandemic that I changed my course because what was important to me in our new landscape had shifted. What I realized was, and is, most important is nurturing a sense of thoughtfulness in memorable ways, and I found with roses I could do just that.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, but the bumps make life interesting — just as the bumps on a roller coaster make the ride thrilling. More recently, I overcame significant inventory loss. While inventory was transported from one location to another, many roses were damaged. It was devastating. Ultimately, we learned how to package the roses safely and can now ship arrangements nationwide! Be on the lookout: long-lasting, full stem flower arrangements are coming soon on Herablooms.com!

As you know, we’re big fans of Herablooms. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Seasons change and flowers wither, but one particular rose stands the test of time. It’s a miracle: long-lasting real rose with uncompromisingly rich texture, plump shape, and strong color. They’re perfect gifts for the moments you want to savor — weddings, Valentine’s Day, graduations, and more — because our miracle roses look fresh for an entire year. You can get them at Herablooms.

Our tagline, “memories last longer than the seasons; the flowers that make them should too,” is a nod to this. Also, they’re perfect for home decor and staging and will save you money because you won’t have to buy grocery store flowers by the week.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is making a positive impact. It’s leaving the world better than how you found it. This, of course, could be developing something hugely innovative that helps the lives of millions. It could also be an everyday act that may seem small but helps one person in a big way. National practices like medicine and local practices like listening keep us alive. And with that, everyone can find success in their own right.
