We recently had the chance to connect with Cheree and have shared our conversation below.
Cheree , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
That I’m raising good kids! My daughter is 19 and going into her sophomore year of college. My son is 14, going into if freshman year of high school and they really are the best part of me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Cheree, I am a Baltimore native but currently living in Southern MD. I’ve been a licensed aesthetician for over eight years. I am the founder of Beauty Beyond wellness and skincare, a space where Beauty meets holistic care. In 2018, my husband and I took of faith and opened a door purpose space a Beauty Supply store pair with skin care sweet to provide our community with both hair and skin care solutions under one roof.
Our goal has always been deeper than surface level beauty. I am passionate about creating a brand that feels like home a place where people can feel confident informed, and cared for. From tackling skin care concerns to helping others discover the right products. Everything I do is rooted in a love for helping others feel their best inside and out.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my Dad. He’s always been a hard worker doing whatever was necessary to provide for his family, but what stood out the most was his balance, no matter how much he had on his plate he always showed up for me. His dedication, consistency, and quiet strength taught me that success isn’t just about working hard, but also about showing up for the people you love his example continues to guide how I approach both my business in my life.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Failing, but there’s so many lessons in failing. It’s apart of growing. Failure only has power if you let it keep you down.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That instant gratification beauty is ok. I have a love hate relationship with the current beauty industry. Tweaking small things here and there I can understand but in this society we do alot of things too fast and too often. We aren’t not giving our bodies a chance to blossom into the beauty’s they naturally can be.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
The conversations! We have comedic sessions, therapy sessions, We discuss any and everything. I like to think my clients leave feeling emotionally lighter. They would miss that.
