Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Hamilton.
Rachel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a way to share my crafts and offer affordable personalized items. That is much different from where my blog is today. Instead of making physical items, I make digital content. Like iPhone Wallpapers and Instagram story templates. I do some easy DIY videos for people to make their own crafts. I am a body-positive advocate. That is what most of my social media outlets are geared towards.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s a very difficult road. I am focused on more than one topic. I share mom things, crafty things, I share my workouts, & I share digital content, & probably more. That makes it difficult for people to understand what exactly I am sharing. You tend to lose who you really are to fit into the box you think other people want you to fit in. But I’ve learned I am happiest when I am myself. If I’m having a hard day, I don’t fake it on social media. When I need a break from social media- I do just that. I share what’s on my heart and what I am passionate about. My analytics have been affected by this, which is difficult for my brand. But this is a hobby, not a source of income for me. I hope one day this hobby will become a source of income. But I don’t have the ability to put in the time my brand needs in order for that to happen.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do free digital content. I try to list Free iPhone wallpapers and Instagram stories each month. I absolutely love doing this, & being able to offer it for free.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Be yourself. On a platform full of “perfection” we don’t need any more perfect-looking people. Be true to the things you love, and the things that have made you stronger. Be okay with knowing – You’re not for everyone. It’s just the hard truth. But the people who will follow you, it’s for a reason. They either like the services you provide, you make them laugh, or you inspire them. All three of those things are good. Whether its fo4 100 people, 1,000 people, 10,000 people or 1000,000+ people. You are making a positive impact by being yourself and sharing your journey.
