Check Out Kiona Miguel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiona Miguel.

Hi Kiona, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My first job, at the age of 14 was at Footlocker. I would get off of school, change into my uniform and walk to work. I was so proud of that job.

To be given the opportunity to work at such an amazing company at such a young age was something that I took very seriously. I saved enough money to purchase my first car.

At 17, I received an opportunity to work for a title company located within a law firm, in downtown Baltimore. I had no idea what a title company was but I was excited to start a new career.

Shortly after starting the job with the title company, I wanted to learn more! I applied for my notary license and then began studying for my title producers license. At the age of 18, I passed the licensing test and became a licensed title producer. I was very eager to learn all that I could about the industry and research ways to grow as an employee.

I learned about each department. I specialized in the funding department and all things post-closing until I was promoted to post-closing manager. In May of 2022, I was promoted again to Business Development and Marketing Manager for my current employer, Assurance Title, LLC.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Overall, the road has been smooth.

The biggest challenge I face is that title companies may be forced to close as the market/industry changes. As a mother and wife, this can be very stressful.

I worked for a title company that was forced to close previously which makes me extremely determined to do all that I can to make Assurance Title remain a success.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Business Development and Marketing Manager for Assurance Title, LLC. Although I love everything title, I have always had a passion for decor, design, and events.

The owners of Assurance Title, LLC took notice of this and have placed me in a position where work doesn’t exactly feel like work although I know that it is. I have a small business, Kiona’s Touch. I create customized items, I have several decor items for rent, 360 photo booth rental services, and decorate/coordinate events.

I truly enjoy doing all of these things which makes marketing such a pleasure to do on a daily basis. My degree is in Business Management and Accounting. I love numbers and determining ways to grow a business. I finally feel like I’m in a place where everything is coming together.
