Today we’d like to introduce you to John Tatum.
Hi John, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started with me posting inspirational quotes via Twitter and I started to get a lot of positive interaction and feedback which motivated me to expand and take it Instagram. I started posting on Instagram and that started to pick up traction. Then we went into COVID-19 locked down and I notice things started to pick up even more. My two friends JMO and Aaron encouraged me to think outside the box and that’s when I came up with the “That Boy Got Knowledge” Podcast.
That Boy Got Knowledge Podcast’s mission is to create a space where multiple perspectives on subjects ranging from sports, controversial topics, fashion, love, entrepreneurship, mental health, and lifestyle are covered and reach all cultural conversations. In addition to this, the podcast platform aims to educate and encourage viewers to engage.
The podcast is consist of 8 members (Aaron, JMO, Ruztique, Janae, Ebonee, Lindsey, Dominique, and myself). We have a sister show called “That Girl Got Knowledge” Podcast” that shares the same mission statement.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everybody goes through trials and tribulations, and I had some difficulty along the way but I try not to focus on the negativity and I keep focusing on the bigger picture.
I see this platform as a worldwide phenomenon and to be a voice for the culture. We want to be able to provide a safe place for people who go through daily struggles and remain them that they are not alone and we can get through this together, We want to speak for the culture, we want to represent the culture, we are the culture. This platform is for people to relate to and overcome struggles.
We are only 7 months in and we are learning as we go. My cousin, Chap is a huge supporter of the podcast. He shares his business savvy tactics that help motivate me and the crew.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
