Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Rodriguez.
Hi Jessica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, especially the ones you can tell without words. My background is in marketing, and for years I focused on helping brands find their voice, shape their message, and connect with people in meaningful ways. Marketing taught me how to be strategic—it challenged me to think about how every visual, every detail, contributes to making a strong first impression and a lasting impact. And photography was always there in the background—first as a creative outlet, then as something more.
Eventually, I realized that visuals have a way of saying what words often can’t. Photography let me move beyond the strategy and tap into instinct. I started shooting more freely, but still with intention. First with friends, families, other creatives and small brands. Then, I quickly saw that this was more than just creating pretty images. It was about helping people connect with each other and see themselves in a new light.
That passion led me to launch Elyrose Photography, and later, The Reset Studio—a space born out of my own need for creativity without constraint. The studio reflects everything I believe in: inspiration, versatility, beauty, and ease. It’s not just a place to take pictures, but an ever-evolving canvas for creators who need new scenes, fresh inspiration, and want to deliver an amazing experience for their clients. I wanted to make the photography experience easy for all my guests, with no chaos or pressure. I wanted to build the kind of atmosphere that fuels your best work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not smooth, but growth rarely is. One of the biggest challenges was giving myself permission to take the leap from marketing into photography full-time. I had to rebuild my confidence in a new space, and that meant embracing uncertainty, learning to trust my instincts, and redefining success on my own terms.
Another challenge has been managing the many hats I wear: photographer, entrepreneur, studio owner, mom. There’s a constant tension between vision and execution, especially when you care deeply about your clients and your work. But that tension has also sharpened my creativity and kept me grounded.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At the heart of everything I do is a desire to help people see themselves more clearly and more beautifully. Through Elyrose Photography, I specialize in brand photography, personal portraits, and lifestyle storytelling. I work with everyone from entrepreneurs and artists to families and everyday people who just want to capture a meaningful moment in time. My work is about capturing confidence, softness, power, and presence—all in one frame. It’s about honoring who someone is in this moment, and reflecting that back to them with clarity and care.
I’m most proud of the way people feel when they leave a session with me: lighter, prouder, more sure of themselves. To me, that’s the real art—not just the images, but the shift in how someone sees themselves afterward.
What sets me apart is the atmosphere I create. I’ve built a process and a space, paired with an energy that’s both calm and encouraging, that helps people show up fully, without the pressure to be anything other than themselves. I believe that creativity thrives when you feel safe, supported, and inspired, and that’s exactly what I aim to offer every client, every time.
The Reset Studio is part of that vision. It’s not just a place to shoot—it’s a space to breathe, to explore, and to create freely. It’s where transformation begins, often in the simplest and most beautiful ways.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That fear and creativity can absolutely coexist. In fact, they often do. I used to think I had to wait until I felt confident or fully ready before I launched something new. But I’ve learned that the magic happens in spite of fear, not in the absence of it.
Also, your instincts are your most powerful tool. Marketing taught me strategy, but photography taught me to trust myself. Merging those two—intuition and intention—has been the secret to my growth and one of the most liberating parts of my journey.
