Antonia “Toni” Gates on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Antonia “Toni” Gates and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Antonia, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to help Families build generational wealth through Real Estate. As a licensed as a real estate agent in Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia, I’m excited to help individuals and families buy, sell, invest in, or rent their dream homes. I was not afraid of doing this before, however, I was apprehensive about when to start doing so. I enjoy being able to do this for others!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Antonia (Toni) Gates! I’m a proud wife, an amazing girl mom to two beautiful daughters, an educator at heart, and a real estate entrepreneur with a passion for helping individuals and families build generational wealth. After years of navigating infertility, I was blessed to step into the beautiful (and sometimes messy) world of motherhood. That life-changing journey inspired me to launch Boss Mom Living, a space where I share the real, raw, and joyful moments of motherhood, lifestyle tips, and the balancing act of chasing dreams while raising little ones. Through my platform, I connect with other women who are navigating similar paths, whether it’s growing a family, growing a business, or both. Welcome to my world of motherhood, motivation, and making moves!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. Both of them Immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago and found each other out here in the United States. Growing up I saw how hard they worked to support our family and their strong work ethic was instilled in my siblings and I.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I think the fear of failing has held me back a couple times, but I’m trying to turn that around. In the past, I’ve had network marketing business and e-commerce businesses that failed and I don’t want that to happen again. This time I’m moving more cautiously, but not living in Fear. If I keep working hard, it’ll all work out!

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. With me, what you get is what you see. You’ll always get the same version of me!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Incorporating habits to Save and invest for my family and I.
