We recently had the chance to connect with Anthony Janey and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Working my nonprofit and providing resources for youth and children ages (4-24). And we provide community outreach and assistance to communities and families.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Anthony Janey I am 33 year old I live in Pikesville, Maryland all of my life, I have worked for FoodLion grocery store for 9 years then I went on to work for Baltimore County Public Schools for 15 years, still working with kids in Special education and teaching and instructing our most needy students.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My mom had caring and loving heart and I think I got most of my loving spirit and heart to help people and help the community she was a devoted mother to her children, and she has been my inspiration and my best support ever. And I took most of her traits and characteristics when it comes to helping and caring to others and knowing the Lord Jesus Christ.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I almost gave up on my life in 2012, but kept my faith in everything I struggled with my finances and I struggled for almost 2 years with my own struggles in life I have been always on the up and up and kept my life together and held onto good things that brought me joy.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes my public version of me is the real me in life I have had so many blessings and so many good things that happened in my life I am fortunate to have family and friends support me and have my back and continue to bless me and encourage me to keep going.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
How I was a blessing in people life and how I made a difference and change the course of so many lives. Hopefully my work and my experience and my bright loving heart speaks for me and the volumes it has to be said and shared.
