We recently had the chance to connect with Tiffany Wicks and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Honestly, it’s not a product or a project — it’s who I’ve become through the journey. I’m most proud of the growth I’ve made personally and professionally. My husband and I have built a strong family together, and that foundation has fueled everything else in my life.
What many people don’t see is the 10+ years of sacrifice it took to build my business to where it is now. I was working 20-hour days between a demanding career in healthcare management and running my business. There were sleepless nights, missed weekends, and moments of doubt — but I never gave up.
So when I look back, I’m proud that I stayed committed. I’m proud that I can now run my business full time. That quiet, behind-the-scenes hustle — that’s what I’m most proud of.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tiffany, and before anything else — before being a wife, a mother, or a business owner — I’m a child of God. My faith is the foundation of everything I do, and it’s what gives me the strength to keep pushing forward, even on the hardest days.
I’m the owner of Wicks Embroidery and Screen Printing, a business I’ve grown from the ground up while working full-time and managing a household. I want to show working moms that yes — it is possible to build your dream, even when life is full. It’s not easy, but it can be done with commitment, faith, and consistency.
People often ask what sets my business apart from others. Honestly, I can’t speak for anyone else’s process — but I can say this: I didn’t start this journey chasing a paycheck. Before I ever accepted a dollar, I spent years learning, practicing, and perfecting my craft. I put in the hours, the mistakes, the sweat, and the tears — until I mastered the level of quality that matters to me. I don’t ship a product unless the print is just right and meets my personal standard.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my reach, continuing to provide top-tier custom embroidery and screen printing, and growing a brand rooted in faith, trust, and excellence.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I would never amount to anything — mostly because that’s how my dad’s side of the family saw me and my siblings. That kind of negativity can weigh heavily on a young mind.
Even though I had dreams of being a business owner, I had no idea how to get there, and I didn’t have anyone to guide me. I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but those mistakes became part of my journey. They taught me lessons, built resilience, and ultimately shaped my path.
I no longer believe I’m “not enough.” Today, I know exactly who I am — a woman of strength, a business owner, a wife, and a mother. And I’m proud of the person I’ve become.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
As a child, my family didn’t go to church, but I always had this unshakable feeling that there was a God — that He was real, and He was with me. Even in moments when I felt completely alone or afraid, I would pray. I didn’t know if I was doing it “right,” but I talked to God anyway.
I was the only one at the dinner table blessing my food, but I knew someone was giving me the strength to keep going. That quiet faith carried me through so much as a child.
As a young adult, I came to truly know Christ and was baptized at the age of 24. Since then, my life has been a blessing in ways I never imagined. That phrase — “You are a chosen child of God” — has always spoken to me deeply. Even before I fully understood it, I felt it. That connection has been with me all my life.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. I won’t say “what you see is what you get” — because that phrase can be misunderstood. Life and experience have taught me how to adapt to different situations, especially through my careers and personal growth. But no matter where I am or who I’m around, I stay true to myself.
I live by strong morals, especially honesty. If I have to lie to make something work — it’s not for me. If I have to shrink myself to meet someone else’s expectations — it’s not worth it. I believe in standing firm in who I am.
The truth is, I’m often harder on myself than anyone realizes. I’m still learning to be fully confident, especially in front of a camera. But the woman people see — whether it’s online, in business, or in passing — is me. Flawed, faithful, driven, and real.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When have you had to bet the company?
Recently, I had to make one of the biggest decisions of my life. My stepdad — the man who raised and cared for me — was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. It was heartbreaking and deeply personal. At the time, I was working full-time in healthcare management while also running my business.
With everything going on — hospital visits, surgeries, and the emotional toll on my family — I knew something had to give. I took a leap of faith and made a bet on myself and my business. In April 2025, I walked away from my full-time job to run Wicks Embroidery and Screen Printing full time.
Since then, my stepdad has undergone multiple surgeries, nearly lost his life, and my mom has endured so much as his caregiver. But by the grace of God, we’re thrilled to say he is now cancer-free.
The business has slowed a bit during the summer months, which has made things challenging. But I still believe — with everything in me — that the bet I made is going to pay off. I chose my family, my purpose, and my passion. And I have no regrets.
