Hi TERRELL, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I am deeply passionate about my work with the Soza Foundation because I believe everyone deserves access to tools that empower and protect them. Through our self-defense and wellness, we provide military members, veterans, and underserved communities with vital resources that can truly change lives. Seeing the impact our services have on individuals who often face unique challenges inspires me every day to keep pushing for a safer, healthier, and more resilient community for all.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Gym Ready Lips was created by Army Veteran and Fitness Expert, Lieutenant Colonel Terrell Givens. He served in the US Army for over twenty years. During this time, he earned his MBA and became a certified personal trainer. His life experience has exposed him to the strength of women and as a result, he was inspired to develop a brand that celebrated that strength.

Gym Ready Lips products include lipstick and lip gloss, priced between $17 to $21 dollars, to be affordable and accessible to our customers. It also features athleisure wear which is priced between $30 and $80 dollars. Our long-term goal is to build relationships with companies and brands that empower and enrich people’s lives, with the intention of growing the active lifestyle community among women and beauty enthusiasts.

I proudly served in the military, completing deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been times when I felt like giving up and even stepped away from the business for a while, but the vision and purpose driving me have always pulled me back. No matter the setbacks, that sense of possibility keeps me moving forward.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’m not sure if 10 years feels like a long time—if anything, I imagine I’ll still be pursuing the same goals and passions that drive me today.
