We recently had the chance to connect with Tabitha Edghill and have shared our conversation below.
Tabitha , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes . Knowing that I’m preparing for my 5th bodybuilding show in my first year makes me very proud .
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi ,my name is Tabitha known as Tabbie , aka Bougie Barbie a competitive bodybuilder, fitness enthusiast, and content creator passionate about inspiring others to glow up inside and out. Through my personal brand and platforms like @only1tabbie, @herglowclub_, and @tabbletics, I share my journey in bodybuilding, wellness, and soft luxury living.
What makes my brand unique is the blend of strength and softness .I’m all about building discipline and confidence in the gym while also embracing femininity, self-care, and lifestyle balance. My story is about transformation: in less than a year, I went from entering my first bodybuilding competition to becoming an OCB Wellness Pro, an NPC Fit Model champion, and stepping onto national stages.
Right now, I’m focused on growing my community, creating digital resources for women leveling up their fitness and mindset, and collaborating with brands that align with my mission. My goal is to show that you can be powerful, polished, and authentic—and that your glow-up can look however you want it to.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me what work really means not just work, but hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. I watched her provide for me no matter what life threw at her. She showed me that true strength is doing what needs to be done, even when it’s hard, even when no one is watching. Because of her, I understand that nothing is handed to you . You have to work for what you need, what you want, and what you dream of. Her example is the reason I push myself every day.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss dance . From the age of 6 to about 21 I danced with a few professional dance companies . I didn’t see a future dancing and gave up . Now that I’m older I do believe I should’ve kept going .
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural value I protect at all cost is respect ; for myself, for others, and for where I come from. I was raised to treat people with kindness, honor my roots, and carry myself with integrity no matter where I go. Respect shapes how I show up in the world, how I build connections, and how I represent my family and culture. It’s a value I hold close because it keeps me grounded and reminds me of who I am.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly believe I’m on the path of doing what I was born to do. Every challenge, every win, and even the parts of my story I didn’t expect have led me here. My father and I don’t have the closest relationship, and for a long time, there were things about his young adulthood I didn’t know. During my first prep, I found out he was actually a bodybuilder back in Trinidad and suddenly, so much made sense. I’ve always wondered why I felt so drawn to the gym, why fitness felt like home. It’s like this passion was in my blood all along. I’m still growing, still learning, but I know I’m right where I’m meant to be ,honoring my story, inspiring others, and walking in my purpose.
