We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sherree. Rogers. Check out our conversation below.
Sherree., it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Traveling with my youngest daughter and son brings me so much joy. I love spending time with them.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am, Sherree Rogers, the Ceo/founder of Standing Strong Mentoring Program. An organization that gives from the heart to help anyone that needs help to help better themselves as well as their lives. Our mission isn’t complete until we leave a lasting impression on everyone we encounter. I’m working on starting a small farm to help with food insecurities in the Cherry Hill Community and beyond. This job is so special to me because I get to see and meet people from all walks of life.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Where do I start? I was lost in the world looking for love in all the wrong places. I was trying to find my purpose in life.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain a little at a time when I became homeless with three children in my thirties. That was just the beginning. When my youngest daughter was kidnapped in 2023, I figured it was bo need to hide my pain any longer. I started using my pain to define my purpose from that day on. It’s like a light came over me filled with power that turned that pain into doing more for my Community.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Of course it is. I am the same in public and behind closed doors. My Kindness is my weakness. I let the public see all sides of me on social media, the giving, the family, the pain, and all.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
The only thing I would stop doing is to stop putting everyone’s problems before mine.
