An Inspired Chat with Fury Godwin

Fury Godwin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Fury, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think most people feel unfulfilled.

They know they are unhappy, unsettled, and unmotivated…but they are not sure of how to change.

Starting is always the most challenging part of change.

In my opinion.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am THE FURY OF ABYSS.

I am a writer, independent music artist, content creator, single mother, recovering drug addict, and mental health advocate with Bipolar II and Avoidant personality disorder.

I use my pain, experience, and creative outlets to help other people heal from trauma.

Whether through music, literature, or video, I share my journey to self-mastery so that others do not feel alone and misunderstood.

We have the power to heal ourselves and create the life that we want, regardless of our current circumstances.

Sometimes, all we need is to recognize our own potential within the works of another.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was who I am now, only without confidence.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That no one really cares about my problems, no one is coming to save me, and when I become successful, everything I have will be coveted by people who pretend to love me.

That I can survive with little to nothing, and not die.

That I can ONLY rely on myself, and the only person I have to prove anything to IS myself.

Suffering is my trainer, my protection, and my reality check.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I don’t have friends. Only family. They would say that “only they matter to me”. And, they would be correct.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
That I built my legacy to be known. I am building my legacy for my children, and their children, and so on. It’s simple.
