Today we’d like to introduce you to Reagan Wade, Denise Wannamaker, Aimee Ringgold, and Adrienne Bromley of 6BG LLC.
Hi Reagan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Our story really started with friendship and a shared love for creating beautiful experiences. We’re a group of four women who have always been the planners in our circles, the ones bringing people together, setting the vibe, and making moments feel special. A few years ago, we realized we wanted to create something that celebrated our city and our community in a more intentional way.
That idea turned into Charm City Chicnic. What began as a passion project quickly grew into something bigger than we imagined. The first year was all about creating an elevated, feel-good experience that blended style, culture, and connection. The response showed us there was a real need for events like this.
Since then, we’ve grown not just in scale, but in purpose. We’ve become more intentional about building community, highlighting local creativity, and creating experiences that feel both luxe and welcoming. Every year we refine the vision, stay rooted in authenticity, and keep that same energy we started with, four women who love bringing people together and celebrating Charm City in a way that feels joyful, elevated, and uniquely ours.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, the experience has been smooth, but we’ve definitely had some growing pains along the way. Building a new brand comes with real challenges, especially around marketing, increasing brand awareness, and earning buy-in from the community. Even something as simple as the pronunciation of Charm City Chicnic has been a learning curve. Some people initially read it as “chick-nic,” which led to the assumption that it was an event just for women. That created an extra layer of education for us, making sure people understood that Chicnic is for everyone, men and women, and rooted in inclusivity and shared experiences.
Creating an event that not only attracts people but makes them want to return year after year takes intention, consistency, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work. We’ve also faced some internal challenges, but each one has been a learning opportunity. Overall, every step has helped us refine the brand, strengthen the experience, and continue growing into something even better.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 6BG LLC DBA Charm City Chicnic?
6BG is the creative force behind the Chicnic concept, a collective of dynamic Baltimore women with backgrounds spanning business, design, entrepreneurship, social work, and entertainment. Reagan Wade, Denise Wannamaker, Aimee Ringgold, and Adrienne (Nik) Bromley, born and rooted in this city, we came together with a shared mission: to create experiences that celebrate Baltimore in a fresh, elevated way.
At our core, 6BG is about collaboration and city pride. Each of us brings a unique lens, but we’re united by a love for culture, community, and creativity. Our work is our way of pouring into the city that shaped us, investing in its evolution while honoring the authenticity and energy that make Baltimore special.
We’re not just creating events, we’re building moments that amplify the charm, talent, and spirit of the city we all want to see win.
Charm City Chicnic is our signature experience and the heart of what we’ve built as a brand. It is our Love Letter to Baltimore. At its core, it’s a chic picnic for men and women that celebrates the charm, creativity, and culture of Baltimore in an elevated, intentional way.
The event blends the ease of an outdoor picnic with a luxe, curated aesthetic. Guests come dressed in their best picnic-chic looks and step into a beautifully styled atmosphere designed to feel both vibrant and welcoming. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the visuals to the energy. creating an experience that feels immersive, not just attended.
A big part of what makes Chicnic special is our deep collaboration with our city. We intentionally highlight local food vendors, artists, and entertainers, creating a platform that celebrates Baltimore’s talent and creativity. From curated bites and cocktails to live music, art, and interactive photo moments, the event is designed to showcase the richness of the local scene while bringing people together in a meaningful way.
More than anything, Chicnic is about connection and city pride. It’s where style meets community, a space where people gather, celebrate culture, and experience Baltimore through a lens that feels joyful, elevated, and authentically ours.
What really sets us apart is intention. We’re not just event planners, we’re community builders. Everything we create is rooted in authenticity and representation. As four women building something together, collaboration and friendship are the foundation of the brand, and that energy shows up in everything we touch. People can feel that it’s real.
What we’re most proud of, brand-wise, is creating something that feels both impactful and original. With Chicnic, we didn’t just host an event, we introduced a new, elevated cultural experience for the city and built a recognizable brand people trust. At the same time, we’ve stayed rooted in purpose by intentionally giving back, partnering with a local nonprofit each year and donating a portion of proceeds to support meaningful work in the community. For us, success is creating something beautiful that resonates beyond the moment and pours back into the city that inspires it.
What we want readers to know is that this brand is bigger than one experience. It’s about creating moments that celebrate culture, connection, and city pride. Whether you’re attending, partnering, or discovering us for the first time, our goal is always the same: to create something that feels special, elevated, and deeply intentional.
What does success mean to you?
At Chicnic, we define success in more than just numbers. Success looks like creating an experience people genuinely look forward to, talk about, and return to year after year. It’s building a recognizable brand, growing our community, and seeing our vision resonate with both attendees and partners. It also means continuous improvement learning from each event, elevating the experience, and strengthening our operations. If guests leave feeling connected, inspired, and excited for the next Chicnic, and our brand continues to grow in awareness, trust, and impact, that’s success to us.
