Rising Stars: Meet Tieashia Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tieashia Lewis.

Hi Tieashia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Three years ago, I found myself in a devastating place. A relationship ended, and I was completely in shambles. My heart, mind, body, and soul was broken. At that very moment, I decided within myself I wanted change, and the change I wanted had to start with me. I made a promise too my-self that I would not re-visit this place again, that’s where my healing began. I took a retrospect of my previous relationships and found not only were they toxic relationships but also, I was repeating a cycle. Every relationship was the same, just a new face. I was the common denominator in each one. So, what did I have inside of me that was indeed attracting toxic cycles? That was the question. I then took a look at my relationship with my father as a child. A women’s first relationship with a man is that of her father’s. I was dating my dad and I didn’t even know it. I found his previous characteristics, and behavior in the men I was attracted to. That called for a very hard conversation with my dad. As an adult my father and I have a beautiful relationship; My dad is my best friend. However, Tieashia the girl growing up did not have a relationship with her father at all. I found I was accepting anything to be love to fill the void in my heart. That void came from not receiving love from my father that I so desired as a child. That’s how you heal, from the roots. You cannot heal from the branch up; You have to start with the roots. My dad was the root.

The next step was my work, self-work. I shut everything down. Social media was the first to go. All the noise and distractions were dismissed. It was time to build myself up. How does one build them-self up? By finding out who you are, and what you want in this life. I took myself out on dates. I would get dressed up from head to toe and went where ever my heart desired. No longer did I look to someone for happiness, I created my own happiness, and set healthy boundaries for myself. I created a vision board. Personal and professional goals were made. I fell in love with myself. My self-esteem was building. Every inch of me I adored and admired. I was changing and I loved it! Mediation and prayer became a true lifestyle for me. I was completely single for two years and I enjoyed every single moment. I had moments/thoughts off “Oh my god you need a man.” Those thoughts were beat out by my words ”No I need a whole healthy me first before I need anything or anybody.” I became my priority! No more would I give another human something I was not already giving myself. I cried many, many nights. Those tears literally became footsteps to keep me on my track of healing. No tear was in vain. I got through it, I healed.

Now that I have been through the process; It is now my turn to turn around reach back and help my sisters all over the world. So many women are hurting mentally, emotionally, and physically from broken, toxic relationships. Having no clue where the true void is coming from, where it began. They want to heal but do not have the tools. That’s where simply.tie comes into play. After I was healed, I turned my computer back on and set up my social media platforms to empower, and strengthen my community. Especially the women’s community. We need it. I want to help you, coach you, uplift you, and inspire you. If I can help one, my heart is overjoyed. If I can help thousands my soul is complete.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, the road was bumpy for sure! Questions filled my head! Will women listen to me? Will anybody listen to me? How can I achieve my mission? Will folks press play on my videos? What if I fail? Fear and doubt is real. Fear will back you up in a corner and dare you to move forward! I told fear and doubt “This is my passion, and my heart’s desire. You will not consume me!” I pressed forward. Look at me now interviewing for this awesome magazine! All things work together for our good!
