Today we’d like to introduce you to Pariah Sinclair.
Hi Pariah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a drag queen, show host and producer from Baltimore, Maryland. I have been performing around the city and beyond for 6 years. I am the ONLY drag housewife of Baltimore.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No not at all. When I started out, I didn’t know how to do anything when it came to the aesthetic part of drag; makeup and hair. So, it took a good 2 years for me to look moderately pretty in drag.
On the performing and business end of drag, that can be unstable. One week you can have 5 gigs and the other you can have none. I had to learn how to produce and host my own shows so that I could sustain in Baltimore. There are very few gay bars so I had to do shows in straight or queer-friendly venues.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a comedy queen. So, I do campy, over-the-top performances. I make my own mixes to perform to and many of them involve spoken word sections.
I’m addition, I host many of the shows I am in. I love being on the mic and connecting with the audience. My favorite thing is to make people laugh.
What do you think about happiness?
Food, sleep, and sex. I don’t think I have to explain why 😂
