Rising Stars: Meet Lisa Bee Buonaugurio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Bee Buonaugurio.

Hi Lisa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a single mom for many years -always seemed to struggle with money and finances. I currently work for the school system as a media tech. But that just seems to just cover insurance bills – no extra.

I’ve always worked 2 jobs most of my life. In the last 10 years, I managed and waited tables in 2 local restaurants. In 2018, a close friend started selling Pampered Chef and I was so jealous – I love Pampered Chef – I remembered going to home parties w my mom in my early 20s.

My friend was going to a wedding vendor event and I was so wanting to do stuff like that – I took a huge leap and signed up as a Pampered Chef consultant that day. Pampered Chef had just also recently become more virtual w a lot of consultants and that fit my needs completely.

Being able to do online Facebook parties and orders online – I was able to take my business anywhere. I remember most of my family and friends thought this would be a short-lived decision of mine. I really truly love this Pampered Chef biz-it has provided the much-needed flexibility I needed.

The team I work with – we all bounce ideas off each other – meet regularly in Chicago for the PC conference – it’s like another family to me. The company treats us well and rewards our hard work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not always easy learning a new business. Plus, being in direct sales is hard!

I offer a service – quality cookware (discounted/free) – pantry items and an easier experience for the home cook.

Sometimes it’s a struggle to book an online party – people have to gain your trust first.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Pampered Chef consultant – an Advanced Director is my current title.

I’m a people person! I love meeting new people online – especially from my PC biz. I love helping people earn free/discounted tools for their kitchen – to allow them a much easier experience cooking at home. I think what sets me apart is in super approachable-and I love people and I never want anyone disappointed. I want everyone to have a great time at my online party experience.

I’m most proud of my children – both boys (now grown men) in their own personal achievements and how kind they are to all. One is a USNA grad, Nicholas, now currently active duty USMC stationed in NC. My other son is Antonio Hancock, aka Saxl Rose -a professional working musician.

With my business, I’m most proud of how – I have persevered and continued to run a successful online biz with Pampered Chef.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I’ve learned a lot from Covid. Mostly that life as we know it can change in a blink of an eye! My mom passed away in the middle of Covid on Sept. 11, 2020 – not from Covid but from dementia and stage 4 Colon cancer.

We weren’t able to see her for 4 months! That entire year for me was life-changing! We had to clear out/sell her house -and figure out what to do w her and my dad’s most prized possessions in the midst of a pandemic. For me- a huge lesson was all of the material stuff is so not important!

My whole life was turned upside down in a moment when she passed away – I thought I was more prepared for losing my mom- it really has affected me every day since. During Covid – nothing was easy. However – I sure love my family and truly loved hanging out w them during the shutdowns.

You were forced to spend time together during the strong force of Covid -as a family unit. That either made you stronger or broke some! For us – it made us a much stronger unit.
