Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Kearney.
Hi Jessica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Through the years, I would routinely bake sweets for family, friends, and co-workers, particularly during the holidays. When my daughter became school-aged, I looked for opportunities to become a parent volunteer. In December of 2018, I volunteered to make decorated sugar cookies for her holiday movie night at school. I discovered I truly loved throwing my artistic abilities into decorating cookies. I found it to be, not only creative, but relaxing.
It was during this holiday time that Sugar Me Sweets Baking Co. was formed.
Since that first opportunity to decorate Christmas cookies, I have expanded my skills and techniques, and continue to learn new ways to bring a design to life. I can truly say that no two orders are the same, even if the party theme is the same. I take pride in bringing to life the designs requested as well as providing a treat that is enjoyable to eat.
The majority of my business has been a one-woman operation, although I must give credit to several of my family members that have helped throughout the years when I have asked.
My business began by chance, but I have always had a love for baking. My great grandfather owned a bakery in Italy and when he immigrated to the United States, he opened a bakery in New York specializing in wedding cakes, so I guess you could say it is in my genes.
Did I ever think about owning my own company, let alone a bakery? The answer is no. Am I glad to have started this journey as an entrepreneur? Absolutely. While my love for baking and my business is not my full-time job, it is one that I am truly proud to call mine.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a baking company has not always been a smooth road. I have needed to learn to balance being a wife and mom, working my regular full-time job, and owning my company, as well as ensuring I take time for myself.
There have been many late nights ordering supplies, responding to customers, and working on orders to ensure they are completed on time.

At Sugar Me Sweets Baking Co. I specialize in highly decorated traditional vanilla sugar cookies. Since the opening of my bakery, I have expanded the menu to include cookie kits for fun family activities throughout the year, decorated cookie cakes, drop cookies, and during the holiday seasons, you can find hot cocoa bombs as a treat option.
I am most proud of the skills I have learned while baking that have allowed me to expand my ability to create these treats. I also pride myself in customer service, as that is an aspect that I am confident keep customers coming back for more.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up in a military family, I was always a social butterfly and always had a passion for arts and crafts. Later, marrying into the military life, I have learned that being social has really allowed me to blossom.

I have ordered from Sugar Me Sweets Baking Company multiple times and I LOVE EVERYTHING about it! The owner is so sweet and accommodating, the ordering process is easy, pickup or delivery is always done in a timely manner, the price is right and the cookies are always fresh and taste great! Whatever your celebration is….SUGAR ME SWEETS BAKING COMPANY is the only place for beautifully decorated, tasty cookies! Love it. Congratulations dear lady!
