Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Tillman.
Hi Jason, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I came up with the idea after finding out about similar businesses online as well as seeing it on TV. I found them in Japan, Texas, Serbia. The lower level of my building wasn’t making any money. I figured it could be a great way to make some money and have fun at the same time. Since opening in 2017, we have since expanded and had to move locations to a bigger warehouse. We started only being open on Saturday’s and now we are operating Thursday-Sunday.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It did not start out as smooth, one struggle has been sourcing items to break – electronics, glassware, miscellaneous furniture. We like to find interesting breakables to keep it entertaining for customers. Toilets are a big hit.
Another struggle starting out was finding the right audience/clientele to bring in. People were definitely skeptical of it at first.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a master’s in education and work at Lindale Middle School as a behavioral specialist.
I own and operate three other businesses in addition to Rage Room MD – Paint Splatter MD, Ready 2 Drive Driving School, Germinator Mobile Sanitizing and Disinfecting.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
It’s all about having fun. There are hardships and struggles but in the end, it is a fun and crazy business experience. I’ve learned that some people rely on us for their mental health.
