Today we’d like to introduce you to Bukola “Ko The Designer” Toyinbo.
Hi Bukola, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For a long time, I was designing graphics for my friends only. In 2019, one of my friends told me that I should really consider designing for others and start making money. I took her advice and my life has not been the same since.
I never expected to have a thriving business in graphic design. Business took off pretty fast. After the first 9 months, I hired an assistant. She has been so helpful. I’ve learned to delegate so that I can focus on being creative. Each year, I strive to learn new skills and programs so I can continue to provide high-quality graphic design services.
During my journey, I’ve met so many people which increased my network. It’s been a pleasure to service over 17 states. In 2022, we expanded by adding printing services.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, I’ve had a smooth entrepreneurial experience. Most of my clients are very serious about their business and understand the importance of branding so it makes my job easier.
My hardest challenge is balancing motherhood and being a businesswoman. Learning to manage time wisely and not overwork myself.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
