Meet Sistah Alexis Carter of Notary Wellness Mentor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sistah Alexis Carter. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Alexis Carter is a woman of many talents who never lets anything stop her from being her true self. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs starting off with her late grandfather. She believed he instilled this love for business to her whole family. She is the CEO of Divine Notary, LLC, instructor and creator of Notary Wellness Mentor. Her journey started in Upstate New York but now is a resident of Maryland along with her three teen children. My mother really showed us how it was done. She stepped out on faith, she juggled so many things at once to succeed.

In 2016, I started the notary business out of need. I wanted to be there for my children when they got off the bus. I wanted to be able to go to basketball games. Then once I got into the field, I wanted to exceed milestones in the field.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not. I at one point quit my job without a plan. I experienced hardship and naysayers. I experienced homelessness and poverty. It was not a smooth road at all, lol. Not even close.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Notary Wellness Mentor?
Notary Wellness Mentor is an online school where we support new and center notaries establish and expand their business. I am the CEO and instructor at the school.

I created this school three years ago while I was on business in Africa. This school will help if they take courses or get mentorship and implement the new skills into their lifestyle.

I am known as being a Business Consultant in the notary field. Also known for the 7 streams of income lady. I have seven ways and multiple businesses that I am actively running.

I am a workaholic! Most people get into the field and wait for business. From the moment I learned from my mentor I hit the ground running. I started this business and if it got remotely slow, I created business.

I created a reputation as someone who is knowledgeable in the field. Someone who can be trusted, our brand is trusted in the field.

I want people to know that you can start from the bottom and with consistency, you can excel. You can go from homelessness and struggle to six figures within a year. If you have the right circle, if you have mentors, if you can make the commitment you can establish a successful business.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk is the name of the game if you’re an entrepreneur. There is no risk without reward. You must be able liking to do whatever, whenever for a goal. When you study your business, you can determine the risks, rewards, outcomes and consequences. You can alleviate issues when you know this information. You can create a plan for strategies to treat each risk. Risk is the chance or probability that if I use my job money for the business and the business doesn’t make money (inadequate profits). I could risk not having any lights or food for the family. One of the major risks my mentees are fearful of.

Certain personalities do well as CEO’s and others do great as supportive roles for the CEO. Regardless, all of those personalities are never art to make a business work. In my business being a risk taker was necessary to have the confidence to cold call, to attend meetings and to establish connections.
