Meet Shade Bowman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shade Bowman.

Shade, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Artist born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I create abstract art using acrylic paint and digital images. I currently hold a degree in Visual Communication that has allowed me to practice my skills as a Graphic Designer. I also hold a Sneaker Design Certification from The Fashion Institute of New York, and a Certification of Non-Profit Leadership from The PLI Institute. With a passion for the arts, I have been a Talent Scout as well as a Freelance journalist. I have written for 3 Magazine publications and was the Music Editor for Urban freedom Magazine. I have also self-published two books of Poetry, “My Verbal Abortion” and “The Rebirth”. I am a well-rounded artist who enjoys connecting with other creatives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, I really can’t complain at all. I feel like every obstacle that I’ve came across has been placed there to steer me in the right direction. Of course, financially it’s a bit costly but even that hasn’t been a tremendous struggle, it’s really helped me to think outside of the box. I can’t say that the road has been all sunshine lol but all in all I have learned how to create something out of absolutely nothing. It’s also highlighted other talents that I didn’t even know that I had. Being an artist is truly a humbling experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a painter, poet, and graphic designer, I specialize in mostly graphics but I’m most known for painting. I don’t promote my poetry as much as I should be I do need to start. I’m very proud of the Chakra collection that is accompanied by poems that’s correlates with the images. All of my works are a representation of a trip through the subconscious mind. It allows viewers/readers to think outside of society’s standards and leads one to experience art outside of the social norm.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m always open to networking and I actually love to collaborate! I’m open to all types of collaborations as well; I’m versed in many areas. If anyone is interested, they can always reach me via IG or my email.
