Meet Phillip Demafelix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Phillip Demafelix.

Hi Phillip, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Back in high school, I used to take photos from my old phone for people and edit their pictures for free. Honestly, that’s when I realized that I enjoyed capturing all aspects of life in just one photo. After graduating high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do or what type of career I wanted to have.

So I started working for brand warehouses for a year to get some type of money. But, while I was working there, I realized that I didn’t want to work for jobs that I’m not happy doing long-term. I want to start my own freelance business with the photography skills that I left behind. I grabbed my Canon camera and started going outside, snapping shots around me and preparing a portfolio.

I have a lifetime of passion for photography and I always wanted to have my own freelance photography business I feel like if I make photography my career, I am finally doing something that I love to do. So I decided to work my way into becoming an entrepreneur and name my freelance business “Exquisiteklix Photography”.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, there was a struggle along the way. I suffer from anxiety along with PTSD which caused me to have a difficult time maintaining my old jobs, which lead to money struggles.

I couldn’t find the energy to keep it up any longer especially doing something that I didn’t enjoy, it was overwhelming.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
