Today we’d like to introduce you to Oly Ebiringa.
Hi Oly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from Nigeria. I came to the U.S when I was nine years old. My family and I lived in Maryland most of my life. I attend College in Baltimore – Towson University. I was there for Bachelors and Masters. I lived in Baltimore after college and worked there before moving to Delaware for work and back again to Maryland! I am an IT project manager and lifestyle photographer. I am a creative by nature and always find myself doing something art-related. I am a painter, I love arts and craft and love doing anything that brings my creative side joy.
I started my IG blog page because I wanted something separate from my photography page, but the thing is, you can’t separate yourself from your work, it follows you. @Keepingitoly ended being an extension of my creativity and photography.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been smooth. With being a photographer and creative, building your brand, your foundation is never easy. It takes knowing who you are, what you are about and what and how you want the world to view you to make it work. We are not one dimensional and trying to fit yourself into a niche or brand is very difficult.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for @Olylive Photography and my blog page @keepingitoly. I am known for my lifestyle photography. I do lots of weddings, engagement shoots and milestones. I love capturing these moments in individual’s lives because of just how significant they are. I feel so honored that I am invited to invade that space and capturing those lasting moments and I am so glad I came to realize what I loved in photography early on.
I am also a blogger, I work with lots of brands and also do my own creative shots. My goal is just to encourage and bring a smile to anyone face who sees my post. I love colors, so my page is very vibrant and positive. I do focus mostly on lifestyle posts, beauty and fashion and most of the brands I am fortunate to work with tend to fit these main areas.
Any big plans?
I am getting married in July! That’s a huge change for me and been my focus these past few weeks. Once that is done, I have some things in the works for my photography – to push it even further and get more creative. Since my blog page is lifestyle, there might be more newlywed posts here and there. I love to be transparent and get my followers on my life journey. I am always trying to find ways to improve myself, so change is one that is going stay consistent in all my endeavors.
