Meet Noree Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noree Smith.

Hi Noree, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It really started one random day when I thought about an inexpensive birthday gift for my eldest sister in May of 2018. So, I decided to make chocolate strawberries. Of course, they did not turn out to my liking, LOL but it was soooo much fun!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been smooth, LOL but worth it because I know that I’ll get where I want and need to be for my business to thrive. I get frustrated with trying to balance my full-time job, part-time job and personal life and of course. I have been fortunate to not have to interact with irate customers but I have over ten years of customer service experience so, I’m prepared to take anything with a grain of salt while always being respectful, empathetic and professional.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The name of my business is now called “Ree’s Creations”. From the day I made those chocolate-covered strawberries for my sister, I practiced until I felt they were profitable and sold them for Mother’s Day that year. I made a profit of about $100 which isn’t a lot but I was proud for this being my first time. That gave me confidence to continue so now, I sell big during most major holidays and I sell as orders are made throughout the year. When I was younger, my mom would always take me to the craft stores so being creative has never been an issue for me. Since starting “Ree’s Creations”, formerly known as “Laine’s Sweet Treats”, I’ve also incorporated my event planning and decorative skills along with my business which I work periodically and is why I’ve changed the name. Everyone knows me for my creative ideas. I help them bring their visions to life while adding a sweet touch with my chocolate covered strawberries that they also LOVE! I am most proud of my strength to continue no matter how tired and frustrated I get. What keeps me apart from others is the fact that I accept the fact that everyone has their own unique specialties.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see myself with a storefront offering my awesome event planning services while set a side a bar to purchase my chocolate covered strawberries. No big shifts at the moment but with growth change must come so I am prepared and excited!
