Today we’d like to introduce you to Gwen Monique Billings.
Hi Gwen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My career in the beauty industry began in 1990, working as a customer service agent. Throughout the years, my love for beauty grew as my job titles to Management positions. I worked for Haircare, Skincare, and Cosmetic company brands learning everything possible as to Sales, Customer Service and managing teams.
After my true calling and love of cosmetics, I left corporate and had an opportunity to start something new with a fresh start that I could call my own. My close partners and I created Eleman Beauty. A brand for every skin- tone throughout the planet. A multi-culture brand that consists of higher quality ingredients. Being a Latina American, this was of most importance to me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No matter how much expertise my partners and I had, I have to admit, it has not been a smooth road and we have most definitely had our shared struggles and made mistakes. Throughout our experiences, we have learned to trust each other more. A friendship/partner bond that’s unbreakable.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I come from a dysfunctional family and there were a lot of problems growing up. I always dreamed of being able to work hard when I got older, so I could be able to do something good for sick children at St Jude Hospital. Danny Thomas’s story and promise to God inspired me so much to give back to people in need. I have made the same promise…
