Meet Destiny Vaughan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Vaughan.

Hi Destiny, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Destiny Vaughan and I moved to Washington DC in 2013 to attend Howard University. I danced in college, but school was always my main focus. During my junior year in college, I decided to finally start my own production company called “RedVisions”. This was long over due. I found my love for production at a very young age.

My parents invested in my career by buying me new cameras for Christmas and letting me use them to build my portfolio. My last year in college, I decided to stop dancing so that I may dedicate my time to the hardest semester of my life. Managing school, being a dancer in the band, and managing my company was very difficult. In 2017, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry.

Once I graduated, I immediately started my second business in which I named “Fulfill Your Destiny”. FYD empowers, trains, & unites women & men of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and dance backgrounds. I help push people closer to their purpose and fulfill their dreams. FYD is now 4 years old. In August 2021, I relocated from The DMV to Los Angeles to achieve many goals that will put me in a place to be a better mentor and leader for my organization.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a very challenging, but yet rewarding experience. I’ve had to manage my own life while helping many others on a very personal level get through all of their struggles as well. As a teacher/mentor, women come to my class for a release during hard times and look to me to uplift them when they can’t uplift themselves up.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a videographer, editor, photographer, content creator, social media manager, choreographer, and dancer, and creative director. I have a hidden talent/ passion for cooking as well! Basically, I can do it all. What sets me apart is my passion, ambition, quality of work, and my consistency.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be Christmas at my parent’s house. My family by far has the funnest, most creative Christmas gatherings! We always eat good food, laugh, and play tons of different games, even if we made the game up.
