Meet Brittany Veney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Veney.

Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I had two loves: law and art! Opposites, I know. However, in high school, when I had to choose a career path, I chose what I believed to be “secure and stable”. So, I graduated from Towson University with my Bachelors in Law and American Civilization. Upon graduating, I realized that I did not want student loan debt from law school, so I chose to attend the University of Baltimore for grad school where I later received my Master’s degree in Public Administration, debt-free! Here’s the plot twist. I received that graduate degree while being a stay-at-home mom. I had worked since I was 14 years old, received my education, and seemingly had established what some people would consider the American dream. Although I loved having the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom, I also wondered if I would grow “stale” in the workforce. Are my degrees a waste? Will I ever feel independent again? So, being the go-getter I am, I slowly pursued entrepreneurship and discovered Virtual Assistance. I birthed Veney Virtual Business Solutions and eventually, realized that my business is what I make it. I had mastered Administration academically and professionally, but that wasn’t my muse. Creativity was my muse and it was designing my own website that sparked my interest in brand and website design. So, I did a lot of research and taught myself the ends and outs of website and brand design. Now, I’m proud to say that I am a mompreneur doing what I love! Talk about the best of both worlds!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but I embrace the lessons. I made the shift in my business right before Covid and also right before filing for divorce. During that time, I also sought opportunities in corporate America to no avail. I had two options: go hard or go home. I chose to go hard. I studied more, marketed my brand more, networked more, and slowly but surely, I am experiencing growth. It isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it. During the challenging times, I keep going. Consistency is key.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a brand and website designer, helping entrepreneurs build a sustainable and authentic brand that they can leverage. I am obsessed with design, but I am equally obsessed with helping my clients establish structure within their brand with systems and automation. I’ve coupled my academic background with my professional experience to establish functioning backends for entrepreneurs which is what sets me apart from other designers. The icing on the cake for me is expressing my creativity to deliver a unique and professional aesthetic to each brand that I service. I am most proud of my ability to turn my client’s vision into reality. In particular, I love servicing startup companies who are passionate about making a phenomenal first impression with their target audience. I don’t believe in superficial brands; I believe in brands with purpose and intention. That’s what I strive to deliver with every project.

Any big plans?
In addition to design, I’ve also added a collection of home, office, and leisure items to my brand. A new brand-building workbook is on the horizon as well as the release of new pre-made, ready-to-go, social media, and brand designs. It is my goal to produce products and services that truly help entrepreneurs save time, money, and the stress of managing various aspects of their brand. I’m excited about networking, making new goal-friends and lots of creating in the future!
