Meet Ashley Leticia Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Leticia Wilson.

Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Funny story. One of my good friends owned a hair salon and I was looking to make some extra cash, or a part-time job, she suggested that I get into microblading. She also stated that she was interested in having a micro-blading artist at her shop.

So I looked into it, I found a class, I found a training facility, and I signed up. After about 6 months, I was ready to start taking clients. At this time, there were not a lot of microblading artists in the city so I put my services on Groupon and it really started to take off.

After a while, people started asking about lash extensions. And once again, I looked into a training class and I took the class.

Around the same time, my boss started having health issues, and the law firm that I was working for closed. At that point, I decided I was going to try to take my business and make it a full-time thing. It worked!! That was in 2018 and I’ve been here ever since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road as working in the beauty industry was not something I ever saw for myself. I never thought I had the personality for service.

Especially coming from a legal background where they’re not always the friendliest people. But I got the hang of it and I’m a very determined person so quitting wasn’t an option.

Even in Covid, I took a hit but I pushed through. It was definitely difficult there were days that I cried I lay across the floor and asked God why, I’m proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish even though my own fears.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a 3x certified microblading artist specializing in creating bomb semi-permanent eyebrows. I am a 2x-certified lash extension artist.

I am most proud of my eyebrow work being as though these eyebrows stay on people’s faces for some time when I 1st started I wasn’t always that confident in my work and finished product.

I remember the 1st service that I completed and upon completion, I knew I knew what I was doing it was one of my proudest moments. I had gotten it!!

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
People say anything worth having is worth fighting for and it’s usually Billy whiskey and it’s true.

Perseverance being steadfast being confident in yourself being determined are the things that get you through.
