Meet Antanique Peterson of Weave Goddess

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antanique Peterson.

Hi Antanique, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I’ve been passionately doing hair for years. Learned how to braid at 11. Got my first mannequin at 12. Did my first client at 14 on my Hispanic friend’s sister’s hair for PROM. Graduated Cosmetology school in 2013. Opened my first salon in 2013 before I even got to graduate. The salon failed to bring in enough profit and I had to close not too long after the first year. When I got pregnant, I decided to write a book based from my life’s journal entries in hopes to help others on theirs. After having my daughter, I went back to doing hair out of a dining room chair AT HOME. Got the courage to open a suite with family in 2015. Which failed and Closed before the anniversary. Took a long break and picked back up in 2016. I published my first book “Bad Dream” in 2017 and continued traveling to style hair, while also working a full-time job. I went through many challenges and humbled seasons. In 2018 my daughter Seven was diagnosed with Autism. I stopped working an hourly job to completely give her as much time as she needed from me. In 2019 I took whatever passion I had LEFT for the hair industry and decided to step out in FAITH AGAIN. I had $100 left to my name and used all of it to purchase natural ingredients I’ve researched to help with hair growth. I tested it for 30 days and when I saw that it worked, I started off with 12 bottles. By 2020 I purchased a liquid filling machine to help with demand. ‘Watch my growth oil’ has currently expanded and is now located in ‘Beauty Berry’ beauty supply store located at 4400 Park Heights Ave. I’ve also launched a natural hair growth supplement to assist. As my online store for my products continue to grow. My focus is now making quality handmade and customized wigs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth at all. I failed twice when attempting to open my own business involving close friend/family partners. There were times when I wasn’t bringing in enough money so I had to quit and get a job. Which delayed my business growth over and over again. My book did well for the first year but I’ve failed to make enough to continue my project.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Weave Goddess LLC?
I’m a local hairstylist. I also specialize in hair care and weaves. I have an all-natural hair growth oil that I make by hand. My product is a lot different because it is made by hand and not an outside company. It is also known for its unique smell. I’m proud of how far I’ve gotten and the fact that I kept going. Seeing returned customers lets you know that your product is helping and working for them. I want everyone to know that I care about their hair and I’m here to help with their hair care journey. I have growth oil and supplements. I will be launching wigs soon for everyone and specifically for those suffering from severe hair loss.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
My go-to app is YouTube, Alibaba, and Canva. These apps help me with just about everything I need.
